I was only addressing Sam's points. He pointed out a reason why he would want to leave UH (Level of competition) and I pointed out that it was changing. I don't believe that is much of a factor in his decision making, anyway. I wasn't really dismissing the Big 10, I was dismissing the particular program. Like with Iowa State, Briles wasn't going to go there just because it was the Big 12. It was going to take far more coin to get him up there than it did to get him to Waco. Sumlin may leave, but it's going to take 3+ million from a high profile program in a familiar location to pull him away. I don't think he's worried about his team sucking next year, we should stomp another cougar paw shaped mudhole in CUSA.
reps for votes??...hmmm..uh...no.. They'll get negated later anyway.. I guess I can turn the other cheek this once though... Dont rep me , or I'll vote RGIII
Ah ok, yeah I can't see "level of competition" being a factor in his decision. And yeah, UH won't suck next year, but there's a big difference between 13-0 and a BCS bowl and 8-4 CUSA/Liberty Bowl Champs. The risk would be that the perception becomes it was Old Man Case winning all those games and Sumlin was along for the ride (I don't agree with that, but I could see how some might think so, especially if UH/Piland struggle more than everyone's expecting by going 6-6 or worse). Having said all that, I wouldn't be surprised if UH ponies up and matches a huge offer from a (current) BCS school; I know Dr. Khator, Mack Rhodes, and the Board of Trustees are completely in love with the guy (as well they should be).
sumlin and rhoades talking contract extension www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/ncaa_football/111128-kevin-sumlin-and-uh-talk-contract,-future apparently sumlin gets a million dollar bonus if he stays through 2012.
I think it's awesome that Luck is getting creamed in the fan vote. His play does not deserve any college QB awards even if he is the best NFL prospect. Keenum RG3 Barkley Luck
awexler Adam Wexler RT @PaulCalvisi: Multiple sources confirm ASU has made contact w/reps for Kevin Sumlin & are "down the road." Ready to spend $2.5M per yr
It's a lot of money, but I don't see him wanting anything to do with the ASU program. We'll see though. UH is giving him 2 million next year, I think.
lol twatter rumerz on teh interweb "I have not spoken to anyone, nor has anyone contacted me, and to be honest with you, if anyone did, I wouldn't even bother talking to them until after the season is over." -KS It's about more than money.
well, everyone has lied at least once in your life, so using your logic, everyone's a liar and you can never ever believe what anyone ever says.
