http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/deep-sixer/The-first-real-post-of-the-2011-12-season.html Went to the Philly board on RealGM and apparently the poster "sixerfan1976" is their team insider and here's what he had in mind. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1134739&start=30 Would you do a Martin for Iguodala swap?
Depending on any other moves that Morey might make, yes. But where would they play Evan Turner? They'd probably ask for Morris (Philly native, I believe?), and I'd say no there.
The Philly front office doesn't care if you are the Fresh Prince of Belair- being from Philly doesn't mean anything.
Probably not. I think it's close as far as value goes, but to me you trade for Iggy to pair him with Martin. What might be helpful from a trade standpoint is that Rod Thorn, who's both the Sixers president & GM is the same guy who selected Terrence Williams at #11 in the draft. Obviously it'll take more than just T-Will, but it's a connection that shouldn't hurt. I also remember talk before the draft about the Sixers liking Motiejunas quite a bit, though one has to wonder how high they really were on him, as they passed on him at #16 to take Vucevic who's a pretty similar player.
I'd think long and hard about doing a Scola + Williams + D-Mo for Iggy and Nocioni. The Pacers are also looking for a PF and are rumored to be interested in Millsap from Jazz. Would a Scola +Budinger+Williams for Granger make sense for both sides?
Because they'd need to replace their small forward and to help sell tickets. Taking Budinger would just add another no-defense shooter to go with Kevin Martin in the trade scenario.
I think they're looking into trading for Milsap to pair him with Granger, George and all these guys. They'll probably offer Hansbrough and a first or something like that. Remember the Pacers are one of the teams with a lot of capspace. Just taking a quick look at their numbers I got them with about $22M to spend. Due to the fact that each team will now have to spend at least 85% of the cap, they'll have to spend about $14M to meet that 85% mark, so you can be sure that they'll be amongst the teams driving up the market for pretty all the big men out there. If they strike out on all these guys (I think they'll get one), then I would think they'll looking into trading for guys like Milsap. I could see the Pacers being interested in Scola, but I do not think they'll trade Granger, which is too bad, because I too wouldn't mind seeing him on this team.
Here is a trade that should make all happy. Get the "super star" (6 years to late), clear cap room for the "2012 sweepstakes", and net a "servicable" center. Plus make sence to the other team, too. OUT: Scola, Thabeet, T-Will & Flynn IN: Vince Carter & Robin Lopez Suns- -Steve Nash needs a scoring power-forward -T-Will can take VC mins -Brooks is/should be cut need a back-up point -trade back-up center for back-up center Rockets- Vince Carter -DMtheGM get Les his "super-star" to put on the tickets, billboards, and be the face of the team - lol -he playes small forward -he stays hurt so he will not get in the way of the youth movement -his contract is up at the end of the season ( best thing of all ) -cleans Scola off the books for the next three years (see Patterson's play) -put us as an even better player in the "2012 swepstakes" Robin Lopez -wrong brother -MAY start here a center -servicabe thoughts? (I posted some time ago but now is the time to make it happen.)
This is a horrible trade! Why would we give up one of our best players and exp. contracts for an old and beat-up carter and a mediocre center at best? Carter hasn't been a superstar in this league in a long time and there's no way he can sell tickets like he used to.
very lateral for both teams and maybe even to favorable for suns... and suns dont have any draft picks to give up
No way are we taking the Lesser Lopez and that washed up raptor, especially when we already have two quality shooting guards.
Rockets, Atlanta, Minni three way If ATL amnesty M. Williams they will continue to cut payroll. so here is a proposal Rockets in:Josh Smith and Wes Johnson, Pekovic Hawks in: Scola, martell webster, Tolliver Minn in:Kevin Martin, Pachullia http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=84go7nu
