Kirilenko set to return to NBA

Now that the lockout in NBA seems to be over, CSKA’s star Andrey Kirilenko has turned his eyes back to America. Among other options, the US media speculates the Russian may soon join one of the Los Angeles teams – either Lakers or Clippers.

Sportando quotes a “source close to the situation” as saying that the Russian forward, who signed a multi-year deal with CSKA Moscow, wants to pen a multi-year deal in NBA where he has played for 10 years with Utah Jazz.

New Jersey Nets and Utah Jazz are the teams interested in him, while AK-47 himself wants to live in Los Angeles and sign with Lakers or Clippers.

Kirilenko, currently sidelined due to an injury, will play with CSKA Moscow until he signs a deal in the NBA. His current contract has an option of moving back to the world’s best league, when the lockout is over.

The Russian has become the real trump ace in CSKA’s pack. Since the start of the season he has been named twice MVP of the week in Euroleague, where he is averaging 13.8 points, 9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game.

    Jordan/Kaman/Cook
    Griffin/Gomes/Thompkins
    Ak-47/Aminu/Gomes
    Gordon/Foye/Leslie
    Williams/Bledsoe/Warren

That could be an eight seed....

He should go to either the Clippers or Nets.

Both teams need a SF and have a superstar already on their roster who would benefit.

Lakers got too much money tied up to the SF spot with World Peace, Odom and Walton.

Not to mention Matt Barnes as well.

He's a free agent. He can go wherever he wants.

    Nothing "Diva" about that.

Walton is expected to be an amnesty cut and the Lakers can try to get someone to take either Artest or Odom. Then maybe Kirilenko can go there.

He would be a big upgrade at SF for the Clippers.

    CSKA: Kirilenko, out until January

Andrei Kirilenko, will be sidelined for the remainder of 2011 due to a shoulder injury, the club confirmed Monday. Kirilenko injured his left shoulder after crashing to the floor while attempting a steal in a Russian League game a week ago. Kirilenko was treated there as blood flowing from above his eye and pooled on the floor. His immediate injuries were identified as a broken nose and a concussion, but he walked off-court under his own power with his head bandaged to stop the bleeding. Since then, he has not played while undergoing additional tests by experts in sports traumatology. The news on Monday was not good for CSKA: Kirilenko's left shoulder injury requires long-term therapy and a rehabilitation process before he can rejoin practice. As such, Kirilenko will not play until early 2012.

It's still the same exact guy. Always getting injured.

Saw the video. One of the nastiest things I've ever seen happen on the court.

he'd be a huge upgrade over artest because offensively he is so much more intelligent. He can shoot, is a very crafty passer who would do well in the triangle. I would love to see him there.
Then on the other end, this guy could be a great answer for the clippers at sf and the nets as well. He sort of blends in many places with his versatility and would be a great compliment
