I know, I know......... But frankly, Rosenfels isn't decidedly different - he's a gunslinger with half the talent.

It's a giant risk; it's a circus; and I would hate the move on many different levels. But we're not winning a playoff game with TJ Yates. We're (probably) not winning a playoff game with Sage Rosenfels. Can we say the same about Favre? Do we really want to hand the NFL's best defense, a top running game and Andre Johnson/Owen Daniels to Yates? Rosenfels? Clemens?.........

If it's about surviving the season, cool. If it's about striking while the iron is hot...........

Did you watch Favre last year? I don't think he's any better than Sage at this point in his retirement. If we're trying to talk old men into getting off of their farms to play football, I think I'd rather have Jeff Garcia (assuming we can't change Brenda Warner's mind).

I have HIGH hopes for him and I'm sure his presence will be UPLIFTING. He'll surprise many and make their heads SPIN.

    ....too much? :(

But wasn't he hurt? And that team around him was pretty terrible. He's had nearly a year off to heal. If he's healthy and has kept himself in shape... I'd at least give him a call.

As much as the Rosencopter game pisses me off (yes, present tense), I'd still love to see Rosenfumble back in a Texans uni. Outstanding backup. Knows the system. And a chance to redeem himself. If dude is at the helm for the 10th and 11th wins of the regular season for the Texans (I feel so stupid saying that!), that will be the new abiding memory of him--replacing Rosenflipper.

    Bring on Sage.

If the team somehow gets Sage, I think it puts them in a better position than when they had Leinart starting.

He is better than any QB (at this point in his career) on the Texans not names Schaub.

OK with Favre if they *also* get Sage. Need a backup in case they need to sit his rebellious, cocky ass.

Honestly, I think it's time to let the whole Rosencoptor thing go. It was one meaningless regular season game several years ago.

Even if he were released, there is no way Tennessee would not put a claim on him knowing the Houston was waiting to pick him up.

In his three seasons with the Texans, Rosenfels went 6–4 as a starter (per Wikipedia).

People remember the Colts game, but the guy won us some games on a team that was much worse than this one. He is mistake prone, but he's also never played with a team this good.

My only issue is whether he still has anything left. I believe it was this preseason that I saw him with the Giants, and he looked terribly slow and out of shape.

People mention this kind of thing all the time, but are there any examples of that actually happening? A team wasting a roster spot and paying someone (Sage would be owed close to $1 million for the rest of the season by my calculation) to block another team?

If it were someone a little more high profile, maybe. But Sage hasn't played in 3 years.

Am I reading the article wrong? Because it seems to just be a guess that this may happen. Does the writer have inside info on both Rosenfels' health as well as Miami's willingness to let him go or something?

Not making judgement until I know the story here.

Since there have been zero rumors of such, one might think that Carr returns to Houston over Kubiak's dead body.

Doesn't that make it win-win. Either the Texans get Sage (to backup Yates I presume) or the t*** waste a roster spot on him.

People seem to all agree that we will go nowhere with known commodities Sage and Clemens. So why not roll the dice with unknown commodity Yates? What do you have to lose?
