    Amar'e was a natural 4 in Phoenix.
It'll take away defensive responsibilities away from him so he can focus on offense.

how cool would it be if thabeet improved so much since we got him that we wouldnt need to consider guys like dalembert?

srsly, if thabeet hasn't improved enough to play 15 minutes a night - AMNESTY his ass!

Yeah, we had that with Mutombo. Won 22 games in a row.

With the lockout stunting his growth, and him being out of training in a time where he needed it the most, I think him and Jordan Hill will see serious decline in the first few weeks of the season. If their tweets are any indication about their offseason dedication, their focus has not been on getting much better.

He is 30 and he has missed 2 games in the past 5 years.

That being said...we only have 1 player over 30 and I don't see why we need to be signing players over 30. Dalembert would be a great fit for the Heat or Knicks. On our team he doesn't make much sense.

Depends on the price. Dalembert's effort level varies a lot and I don't think much of the guy. He would disappoint a lot of people here.

He's worth about $5 million/yr and I'd take him for that.

Thabust doesn't have the potential to be Dalembert and won't be on the Rockets' roster after this season.

He has been working out with Kevin Martin...and his agent says the light bulb has gone off.

Gonna be fun to see if it is an extended life bulb or just a camera flash.

From our standpoint the obvious question is: how much?

The answer to that changes everything.

Personally, I think he ends up in Miami. He fits the bill perfectly as a veteran that's already made his money and just wants to latch onto a contender.

It took him a couple years to get "it" at Arizona so hopefully he starts to shine this year. From my perspective it seems as if he had trouble with the speed of the NBA game. Let's hope it has slowed down for him.

The Rockets need to stay with the youth movement and avoid guys like Dalembert.

Exactly, Dalembert is going to cost in excess of 5 mill a year to sign outright. I would never commit that kind of money to a guy who has only shown flashes of mediocrity. That's what we have Thabeet for.

As a Rockets fan, I have to say no thanks. It's Nene, Gasol, or bust for me (I don't think there's any way Chandler leaves Dallas).

If Morey can't bring those two guys, then they might as well see what Thabeet can do.

Classifying Dalembert as 'mediocre' isn't accurate at all.

He has his issues but as far as rebounding and shot blocking go he's close to top-notch.

Again, I'd have to hear a price range before signing off on anything. But let's be fair here. He's NOTHING like Thabeet.

NY will only offer 1-year deals in order to preserve cap room (for a run at Chris Paul when Billups' contract expires). Miami has up to the full MLE for 4 years to throw at him.

The Rockets can out bid them, but I'm not sure whether I'd want them to. If we are talking MLE or slight above, maybe.

Forget the price tag for a second. Do really think Dalembert would help the Rockets take a step forward?

I can understand the desire of signing Nene, Chandler, Gasol or even D.Jordan, but Dalembert?
To me Dalembert is where you draw the line. Signing him would be a mediocre move to keep this mediocre team in mediocrity.

And having a healthy T-Mac didn't have anything to do with that?

Dalambert is better off going to MIA or NY. Neither Bosh or Amare want to do dirty work so Sammy can be the garbage man on their team.

We need more than a garbage man.

Agents have a tendency to say things like that when their players contract is up for extension or free agency.
