Crappy news but I'm happy that AJ didn't reinjure himself and that the Houston defense is emerging as consistently top tier.

It feels like the sky is falling.

You look up and we've won 5 games in a row. This team is resilient.

Just think about it. If that td by the jags had been caught, we would have been in deep trouble.yates would've had to throw late in the game.

If Foster hadn't uncharacteristically fumbled, and gifted them a TD, the point margin still remains the same. If the refs didn't bail out the Jags with that bogus personal foul deep in their territory, they likely don't sniff our territory for the rest of the game.

Lots of ifs... in the end, the game played out exactly as many expected, especially with the Texans being a 6.5 point favorite.

If we are playing "if" games, had he caught the TD pass, Leinhart my have never been in a position to get hurt, unless you think the game would have played out exactly the same way.

Trying to stay optimistic here...so forgive me for putting my thoughts out there as farfetched as they may seem atm. But this whole season would make a great storyline for the week before the superbowl.

The Texans overcome so much adversity due to injuries and still make it to the superbowl and win it. On a personal note it would just make me thrilled to no end if the teams they had to beat to get to the superbowl were Pittsburg and Buffalo,Then beat Dallas in the big game. Now that would be a season to remember.

NFL.com poll asking who had the best performance today. (brady, Sanchez, etc) and Barwin is listed as an option.

what a mixed bag. I'm happy that we won and we're that much closer to making the playoffs. the question is will we have any qb's left that can do anything for us in the end? sigh.

Not saying I expect him too....but god bless, we need a miracle out of him.

Running game was crap because they didn't respect the pass, and neither QB gave them any reason to. They ended up stacking the box, and no one's that good that they can be successful running against 8 man fronts all game.

Our offense was for **** after halftime. Maybe MAYBE the deep ball wasn't there because Landy/Lowery had tight coverage all day....but if Yates simply can't deliver it deep? We're in serious trouble.

You're right - sorry. Bleak. Bills are fading badly and lost Fred Jackson. Titans also get Colts and Jags.

All of a sudden, I'm very concerned they leapfrog us.

All we have to do is beat the Colts and Panthers and we win the division with 10 wins. Tennessee is simply not a 10 win football team, they may get 9 but not 10.

The running game was crap today because the Jags weren't respecting the pass. It'll get worse against better defenses. We gotta get a guy that can throw the ball......at least a little bit....to keep the defense honest. Yates showed nothing in that department today. I am skeptical to say the least.

There was zero game plan in place, for Yates, to get him to pass the ball... especially not with a 10 point lead on the road against an above average defense.

Its extremely short-sighted to think that what you saw in one half today from Yates is what you'll be getting in the playoffs.

At the very least, give him a week of practice with the first team along with getting a chance to have a real game plan installed for him. It was the first time he was active all freakin season.

Finally... believe it or not... the Jags may have the best defene of any team we play for the rest of the year. They held us down pretty well even with Schaub back there. They need Vickers back and the running game will improve as well.

This. Kubiak went super conservative with a lead and his defense dominating. Let's see what Yates can do next week.

They snuffed our offense missing several of their top starters.

Falcons and Bengals are already the #2 and #3 run defenses - if they don't have to fear the pass, they could shut us down cold.

Hopefully we regroup and can at least nip the Panthers and Colts, but nothing's a given anymore.

I'm not thinking Vickers is the main problem with the run game. The Jags are a good run defense that did not respect the Texans ability to pass. Unless Yates can give a reason for the defenses to step back, expect the running game to suffer. Foster had trouble running against Jags last game with Vickers.

Small gripe against Kubiak....It looked like the Texans needed a little more power in the running game. Tate would seem to be more effective than Foster in this situation. I would like to have seen Tate get a few more carries to at least see how he would have done.

This was their "payback" game. Remember all the whining they did about the Texans being dirty?

Yates might be O.K., but if I were the Texans I would try to get a "name" QB to finish the season. Wonder if Warner is good for a few games? If he is anywhere close to football shape can you imagine how scary the Texans would be with him? If I were him, another Super Bowl would be tempting to grow your legend.

Leinart already had a shot to show the NFL who he was/is. TJ hasn't had that shot yet, thus the hope that he can pull a Brady.
