No prediction yet, but I just wanted to say how awesome it is to once again be hanging out in the GARM with an actual NBA season looming in the headlights. I missed you guys!* * You too, Hayesfan and RocketGirl.
I will wait to see the roster, but my first guess is 33-33......which may be optimistic, because we have a new coach...and roster turnover. DD
I might change my mind later because I still want to see how they do in training camp and the final roster, but as of now I'll say 35-31.
I'll have to see what our roster looks like before any predictions. I don't even know what kind of offense McHale wants to run.
Less games vs the Eastern conference this year. Somewhere close to .500, maybe on the lower side. 9th-10th seed. Need to see the final roster to make a better prediction.
New coach, but same great foundation from Adelman. McHale isn't coming in changing the system, but instead having a more open-minded approach for the system that's already in place. Tweaking the roster when changes are needed during in-game situation will be huge IMO. The Rockets will be slightly better than last year with the current roster because Lowry keeps improving. An improved point guard improves the team because everyone becomes better.
IMO McHale will go with Thabeet at center with Hill backing him up. Yes, Thabeet will take a beating but only until McHale gets him in the groove. Scola will be backed up by 2-Pat, and Bud will be backed up by Morris. Martin remains the fixture at SG with Courtney Lee giving him rest spells. Lowry wlill lead the team at PG, and Dragic will be his change of pace. Thabeet / Hill Scola / Patterson Bundinger / Morris Martin / Lee / T-Williams Lowry / Dragic / Flynn Donning flamesuit....I don't think the Rockets will re-sign Hayes, and the remainder will play in Europe or for the Vipers. Our season record will be 39-27 for fifth seed.
So does anyone know when the season home opener is? Or maybe when the NBA is going to put the schedule out?
My expectations are something like this... same roster not resigning chuck or any other FA of note: 33 - 33 same roster plus a resigned chuck: 38 - 28 same roster plus a signed nene and no chuck: 40 - 26 same roster plus a signed nene and chuck: 44 - 22
