All that means is that Jacksonville has a crappy xray machine, so it wasn't clear enough. But, they SHOULD be able to make this diagnosis (collarbone) with a good xray shot of it. Again, even if its not broken, its still likely something serious based on the fact that he could not throw a football... and had to keep his shoulder slinged.
That's generally a good theory, but you are discounting the Jags defense entirely. Texans failed on like 11 straight 3rd downs. The running game had already fumbled the ball twice. You don't 'eat clock' if you are constantly going 3 and out and giving even their ****ty offense plenty of opportunities. You have to move the chains to kill the clock effectively. Luckily it worked out, but i seriously doubt going 3 and out and giving them the ball back time and time again was the 'game plan.'. Thankfully the are getting the hell out if there with the win.
Yates will play better next game, but today was not the day to get him throwing it, next game yea....he better . .
Almost got Kubiaked in that one. I don't care who your QB is, you have to at the very least take a couple of shots downfield to keep the defense honest. They were completely selling on the run and dumpoffs in the backfield. Luckily the Jags playcalling was atrocious, because our D was looking tired.
Not making crucial mistakes was the game plan. Easier to do that via running than it is passing downfield.
Apparently you don't have to, at the very least, take a couple of shots downfield when you have a 10 point lead on the road with your 3rd string QB who hasn't been active all season. Also, Kubiak didn't call for the dump-offs... otherwise he wouldn't have allowed the downfield throw to AJ in quadruple coverage. You maintain the 10 point lead as much as you can without making mistakes. There was nothing to gain and all to lose by throwing it downfield.
Its already being reported around the league as a broken collar bone. Looks like somebody in the Jags office leaked the xray results.
I think this is something they learned from the Colts I remember they use to always hide their injuries Rocket River
