There's a interview in the print only magazine. But is basically says that it takes place 8 years later. Costume designer Lindy Hemming also talks about Bane's mask...oooh, the mask! Bane is "injured early in his story," she says. "He's suffering from pain and needs gas to survive. He can't survive the pain without the mask. The pipes from the mask go back along his jawline and feed into the thing at his back, where there are two cannisters."
Nolan Talks Dark Knight Rises WOW! http://movies.ign.com/articles/121/1213032p1.html Nolan also discussed the villain's fighting style of the physically imposing antagonist. "He's brutal. Brutal. He's a big dude who's incredibly clinical, in the fact that he has a result-based and oriented fighting style. It's not about fighting. It's about carnage. The style is heavy-handed, heavy-footed, it's nasty. Anything from small-joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. He is a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action." The timeline is going to be interesting.
Keyser, I noticed on the SHH forums you got a copy of the magazine already. How'd you get it before it hit news stands?
Scans.... Spoiler http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Bane-Holds-Up-Harvey-Dent-Photo-Dark-Knight-Rises-Images-27997.html
Oh, that isn't me, I guess another user on that board with same username. Anyways are these the scans? http://www.movieweb.com/news/the-dark-knight-rises-empire-photos-hint-at-batman-vs-bane-brawl
Damn this wait. Dark Knight was one of my top 5 movies of all time. Cannot wait for this but am sad to know its the last one. Nolan is the man. I never follow actors but I will watch any movie by Chris Nolan or Ridley Scott.
I wouldn't mind seeing some other awesome director take on "The Dark Knight Returns", even if some elements would need changing (the presence of Harvey Dent; the presence of Robin; someone else would have to play the Joker, etc). Watching Batman and the Green Arrow take on Superman, with Superman working for the U.S. government....that would be geek heaven.
Rumor is their rebooting the franchise in a couple of years. I would not mind seeing Batman and Green Arrow taking down Supes. If done right it could be amazing.
So in the comics wasn't Bane an extremely massive person? He looks like he's just going to be a really swoll guy in this movie
Yeah, but Nolan is going for a more realistic approach as he always does but Bane's venom will be in this movie from what I've read.
is this the last batman movie nolan is going to do? has he said why that is the case? does he not like any of the other characters/villains enough or something?
Leaked info on the six minute footage http://movies.ign.com/articles/121/1213482p1.html Spoiler ... "is one of the assassinations ordered by Ra's al Ghul. A mind blowing action sequence set aboard the Hercules plane, involving some innovative camera work ala Inception hallway fight scene. Bane and his mercenaries hijack a military plane transporting a dictator of a country which is in unrest (think Saddam Hussein type figure). He successfully kills the leader, but makes some mistakes along the way and is unable to safely land the plane. Because of the resulting injuries from the accident, he has to undergo complicated surgeries and that is how he winds up with that scar down his neck and the need for the mask to numb the pain." It also has some interesting bits about Nolan's take on Bane, whose origin the site claims Nolan has significantly changed.
Here's more on Bane's background and the plot from that source: Spoiler Nolan has significantly rewrote the story of Bane from the comics. He is raised by Ra’s al Ghul and his up bringing mirrors that of Bruce Wayne. It’s a mirror of Bruce, except it’s darker and twisted. Bane is trained to be an assassin for the League of Shadows. He kills political figures that are deemed unfit by the LOS. So he is a bit of a Che Guevara/ Jason Bourne type character. A revolutionary and an assassin. He comes to Gotham to start a revolution by revealing the cover up dealing with Harvey Dent and killing the Mayor, among other key political figures. http://www.ramascreen.com/the-dark-knight-rises-prologue-description-plus-details-about-bane It's a departure, but it fits with the previous 2 movies.
What is the relationship between this movie's "Bane" and the Bane character from the comics? If they're going to completely redo the character, they might as well give him a new name.
