the only animosity towards favre is that he is RETIRED, played horrible last year and just looked old doing it...not to mention that we don't even know if he wants to play or is in physical shape to play. Oh yeah, and then there is the fact that he would have to learn a new system (he was never that great at learning new things quickly) and actually play within the system and not try to do too much. Maybe Leinert will be mediocre, but that's better than what favre played last year and could play now. Let it go dude. Favre is an all time great player but players run their course over time. Favre time is done.
Brett Favre at this point simply isn't very good, I have every reason to believe Leinart is a much better option. Now, if Leinart goes down, I am willing to call Farve because he at that point, becomes the best option available. I have to think Farve will perform a game or two worse than Leinart will. Certainly the rotting corpse of Brett Farve is still better than an untested T.J Yates and whoever the abortion K.C trotted out last night was. But Brett isn't going to sign to carry a clipboard. Give me the young guy, who knows the system, has plenty of tools and who's ego will permit him to hand the ball off to Arian and Tate as often as is appropriate.
You dont know how Leinart is going to play this year, maybe he matured and he knows the system and the playbook. Did you know that Kurt Warner was going to be that good? When Bledsoe got hurt, and Brady got in did you think Patriots season was over? Did you think Alex Smith will have his team 9-1? Just give the benefit of the doubt to Leinart, we just need a game manager that doesnt throw INTs.
If Matt #2 is done for the season, who backs up Yates? Yeah, you can't just automatically dismiss the idea of signing the gunslinger, even if he is a petty human being.
