Thank you and welcome. A lot of these guys are blinded by star worship that they don't see whats right in front of them. A pretty good team with promising young talent already built. Play with the team you have first and see how they do. At least until the All-star break.
Exactly. I'm all for rebuilding if the situation presents itself that way. For the majority of the posts in this thread to suggest rebuilding without a game being played is sad. Like you said there is alot of young talent on this team. Fans should at least give them an opportunity to prove themselves before they are just shipped out of town.
Dwight, CP3 or DWill will only switch teams via sign and trade or extend and trade. Which means you will need assets to get one of them. So go ahead and sign Nene, no need to save the cap space for 2012. Remember that the Rockets were over the cap but still pursued Bosh; they reportedly had the framework of a sign and trade with Toronto in place if Bosh wanted to come here.
I have only have one problem with nene is his injuries. Are his knees ok to be running up and down the court
http://eye-on-basketball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/30283991 Morey knows this as well. That's why he's the prize FA in the market.
Problem w/ Nene is we don't have anyone to protect the rim. I'd much rather take Deandre who can block shots and grab some boards. Or Gasol. Nene plays decent on the ball D, but we need someone who'll deter people at the rim.
While I agree that Nene will make us a better team I don't feel like he's the answer to put us over the top. I'd like to see Marc Gasol in a rockets uniform but am almost positive that he returns to Memphis. Just run the season out if we don't end up with Gasol with the roster we have now and see what happens. We have a lot of players playing to stay with the team next year. I don't believe D. Howard's coming here. I'd like to have a shot at Andre Drummond in next years draft with potentially two first round picks.
Nene is fastly become one of the most overrated players in the upcoming free agency. Calling him a corner stone to a franchise is just plain ridiculous.
I'd rather have Chuck for a fraction of the price. For as much as he improved last off-season, I'd love to see what he's added this extended off-season. NENE DOESN'T WANT TO BE A CENTER. Let's hope Thabeet worked hard during this break. The pickings are slim on available C's and Nene is not the answer.
Where did Nene say he doesn't want to be a center? A Nene/Hayes lineup would be devastating for opponents.
I am not big on Nene but if DM is really going for this guy lets go for Rudy Gay considering Memphis may want to shed salary to keep Gasol. Sign Nene for the max or close to it, trade anyone/everyone except Lowry, Martin, and Scola for Gay and lets win this thing NOW. Lowry Martin Gay Scola Nene
Wait what? Have you ever watched Nene play? He might, and I mean might, be a better defender than scola ( which isn't saying much ) but he is in no way good. No one on Denver is. What is the obsession with running a 4 out at the 5. I'm really not against moving scola, but for Nene? Come on you guys are better than that. If it was possible, I would take Andrew bogut in a heartbeat. Now, he is a center that can defend, unlike ****ing nene. Also a good passer.
I also agree with this l, even though it is probably a pipe dream. Seeing how successful Memphis was without him, and the importance of gasol, there is a tiny chance this could happen. Memphis would be dumb to lose him though.
This move would also erase our biggest mistake as an organization in recent years-trade Gay for Battier.
I hate to throw a wrench in the whole tanking think tank going on here but if we play anywhere close to how we did after the all star break we're going to have a great year.
this. Nene is about as much of a presence at the rim as Chuck Hayes. Hell probably less. As great as Chuck is on the ball, its not what the rockets need at the 5.
