Negligible risks at best. They are risks worth taking considering the benefits to both the NBA and the NCAA. Sure, the kids may miss a season of income, but it could improve their career earnings if they form a strong foundation in college. Im all for this.

they also did this for the small market teams. because with shorter contracts the draft team is basically the farm team and the second contract would have been where a players true value is revealed. this way it makes the draft more meaningful.
