I see all the reasons why Rockets need him, there it's only short training camp, no summer league. Raptors roster was sitting and doing almost nothing just playing in stupid exhibition games while Motiejunas worked hard in the strongest basketball competition while NBA was having lockout. His numbers are unbelievable, he improved his rebounding alot, he's averaging 16,3 PPG 7,2 RPG and 18.3 EFF. With those numbers he's in top 10 best players right now in Euroleague.
Luis Scola incredible HIGHLIGHTSDDDD) this season so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FlH4SXhyYc Donatas Motiejunas HIGHLIGHTS this season so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdfhROSwhoI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEmI5i9bRjQ
This will be interesting, If it were me, I would tell him to stay in Europe for this season and start fresh next year. DD
Absolutely 100% wrong and total nonsense. He has those numbers on Prokom. Those numbers would be almost half in an average Euroleague team, and in a big one, he would be lucky to get 10 minutes a game. Don't make me bring up Bojan Bogdanovic's stats from last year to this year to prove how incredibly meaningless those stats are on an 0-6 Euroleague team.
Bargnani actually plays center, but can he play center? Perhaps on a bad team. Sorry but Donatas definitely is not the answer for our C position.
And we all see how great it played out for Toronto. Gettin destroyed on the boards and pushed around.
http://www.basketnews.lt/news-44594...-motiejunas-ir-valanciunas-liks-europoje.html Translate it. D-Mo stays in Poland. I think it pretty good decision for him, cuz he will play 30-35min as always and he wouldn't get these minutes in Houston this year.
Knowledge of the National Basketball Association (NBA) lockout shall not affect the two country's most talented young players for the future. NBA in the summer of newcomers choose exchange Jonas Valanciunas and Donatas Motiejunas At the end of this season and the NBA to move next summer. Valanciunas, who was selected fifth stock exchange, with the Lithuanian Rytas agreed that Lithuania will play the entire season and the Toronto Raptors will move from the 2012-2013 start of the season. Twenty recruits selected stock Motiejunas also leave Asseco Prokom. This website "BasketNews.lt affirmed basketball dad Vidas Motiejunas. "Donate remain in Poland, because it has a contract until the end of the season and guided him. Not even thought about the NBA this season. N. is still young, before all eyes, "- site" BasketNews.lt "said Donato dad. While the lock-Motiejunas extended the contract with Treviso Benetton, he was soon loaned Asseco Prokom. Representing this unimpressive 21 years 213 cm tall striker full brightness shines Euroleague competition. In six games in elite clubs in the Old World Championship Motiejunas an average profit of 16.3 points and grabbed the ball after 7.2, and 18.3 after collecting utility scores.
In the Euroleague, yes. http://www.in-the-game.org/statistics/index.php?season=2011&player=MOTIEJUNAS, DONATAS
Leave him there, we already have like 15 PFs, he will get no playing time. Euroleague is better than the D-league so he will have more time to improve. Let Pat get playing time here in the states.
My question is, whenever Prokom's season ends(which from what I read will be right when the NBA is starting up), why wouldnt the Rockets want to go ahead and bring him over to at least play in the D-League to start working with Rockets coaches and trainers? There isnt any more playing time he can get anyways until the summer of 2012. Even if he isnt going to play this season for the Rockets, why wouldnt Donatas want to at least start working with the staff and make a few bucks in the US. More than likely the Rockets will have an extra roster spot where they could sign him and keep the man paid. Regardless of playing time. It doesnt make any sense that they would just let him chill overseas for 8 months unless he has a binding contract he cant get out of for the 2012-13 season. My guess is the Rockets would rather him be the 15th man on their roster than Marcus Blakely.
I tend to agree with you, but remember that Prokom only has four Euroleague games left, as they won't make it to the top-16. He'll still get to play against some decent competition in the VTB League, but Prokom may soon get eliminated in that league as well.
I really have no idea how the Euroleague works so I don't know how long he will still be playing, but would it be more beneficial than the D-League, followed by the amount of time he could spend with a trainer bulking up before next season?
