I'm pretty committed to AT&T (part of a family plan, currently on contract with my Atrix). Maybe if they get one (preferably with LTE), I'll consider it off contract but right now, I'm gonna stick with my Atrix and envy Nexus owners.
Amazon has all cell phones(Verizon, AT&T, Sprint) for a penny, if you are a new subscriber. The sale lasts through November 28th. It may be worth waiting on a Galaxy Nexus purchase to see if it shows up during the week. The Droid Razr and HTC Rezound are currently listed for a penny. http://blog.amazonwireless.com/penn...izon-att-and-sprint-phones-at-amazonwireless/
THANK YOU!!! I just signed up with Verizon through Amazon's deal and got two Droid Razr phones for two cents. I really wanted to get a new smart phone that runs ICS, but... (1) this price is excellent (2) I don't like the fact that the Galaxy Nexus has only 5 megapixels on cam (3) ICS needs to work out some bugs. In two years, I expect that ICS will be much improved, more established, and there will be more/better phones to work with it. I won't mind scrapping my Droid Razr's at that time because I only paid two cents for 'em!
There's no way the Nexus can be a penny, can it? The RAZR is there because the Nexus is coming out. Awesome deal though.
That's a good deal. If you're not looking to get a Nexus or simply don't care for one, you can't go wrong with a RAZR or Rezound. Both manufacturers of each device have stated they will get ICS eventually As for ICS being buggy, I haven't heard of much except about some weird volume issue when in 2G mode, and that's on the International version. The VZW version won't have a GPRS radio in it, so results may vary. Also on a different topic, I heard from a good source from MyDroidworld (p3 owns a Engineer model VZW Nexus with 1750mah battery) , that Google is in fact pushing updates to the VZW Nexus and not VZW.

You also get $100 giftcard with the new phone if you get active the hotspot capability, so you are making a profit. The HTC Rezound was just released after the Razor and it's a penny today. Well, Verizon releases new phones on Thursdays. I would just wait it out to see if Amazon will have the Nexus for a penny. Even if it's not available on Thursday(November 24th), you can still get the Rezound and Razor on November 26th. Amazon has a 30-day return policy. If the Nexus becomes available for a penny pincher Christmas sale, you can sweeop in and exchange it for the price of shipping. This is not the first time Amazon had their penny pincher sale. They had one about a month or two ago also. There was no $100 giftcard with the previous sale. NOTE: You can not cancel or downgrade your plan for 6 months or you will be charged $250 per line by Amazon on top of any charges from the wireless provider.
By making a profit, you're implying purchasing the hot spot capability and then cancelling right? If so, that might be considered "downgrading" your plan right? heh, I'm not sure but if not I guess that's pretty cool.
I refuse to stop talking about the Nexus. Okay, so it looks like it's coming in December on Verizon. Koush already has clockworkmod recovery fixed and working on this device. Also, development teams have also successfully made a one click root & boot loader unlock solution. I shall be doing this before I even setup my accounts on the phone. The GSM Galaxy Nexus appears to have an issue with radio inteference from 900mhz European networks. Build ICL53 will fix this. (Google controls the updates for Verizon as well which has also been confirmed) It has been fixed by increasing the debounce time. (An engineer of ISSIMO apps explained how it can be fixed with software) I didn't know this but the Galaxy Nexus front facing camera actually has 720p video support. Here's a comparison with the Iphone 4s camera, and the GNEX hands down wins (Hit 1080p in Youtube ) http://www.geek.com/articles/mobile...g-galaxy-nexus-at-720p-vs-iphone-4s-20111123/
The nexus is using a over four year old cpu and gpu design. I don't know how you can be excited about that. I am not fan of apple, but they actually pushed the state of the art with GPU they used.
The Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 is not a four year old CPU. The GPU may be four years old, but it is being clocked in at a higher rate. I'm not really a gamer, so this doesn't bother me . -I'm excited for Android 4.0 -720P Front Facing Camera - NFC - Pure AOSP - The only screen out there that competes with the iPhones retina display - & of course all the developer **** that most consumers don't know or care about , heh. I can see your point, but buying a phone always comes down to user preference, and the GPU doesn't bother me at all
Galaxy Note? I have both the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy Note, and the Note's screen is basically twice the size of the iPhone's, and seems really sharp...
How much you pay for it? Any news on the next qwrty smartpphone? like the htc tmobile g2 series? I hate touch screen only option for smart phone
Ah, my fault. I forgot to mention that both the Nexus and Note have the same exact screen How's the note doing?
They also kept the phone 3G and a 3.5 inch display, which dings it tremendously in my opinion. For the brand that exploded multimedia into the cellular domain, their battery life obsessing foot drag on screen size and LTE is holding them back from the current cutting edge multimedia experience on a cell phone.
not trying to provoke anything, but this is hilarious <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/X4VHzNEWIqA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
