Considering the top scorer in that "mediocre" league averages <20ppg how many ppg is considered "doing great" in his situation?

Did ya'll miss the point of the story? I thought it was well-written. He found his love for the game again after losing it. Good for him. If he doesn't have the ability to play in the NBA then oh well. He gets paid 6 figures to play ball. I would love that; it wasn't his fault he was picked #3.

    A team with a 2-6 record, in 11th place in a mid-level European league is "not a bad team"...........really?

Why don't you look over that list of players and then get back to me. Even Sam Fisher has more sense on this.

And since when are the Italian League and Eurocup considered to be better than the Adriatic League?

Yeah, this confirmed my suspicions. You just looked at the standings and automatically assumed that the 11th placed team (by the way, they are 10th) is a bad one.

That's all he can do, since he lives in Arkansas.

The ABA isn't as good anymore. Yes, it added Maccabi, which is a huge boost, but the clubs are weak other than Partizan. And let's face it, Partizan is just an average level Euroleague team.

Red Star is an awful team. Any team that is 2-6 in ABA is an awful team.

In terms of Euroleague, Maccabi is a Final Four team, Partizan a Top 16/Playoffs team, Olimpija (if they want) and Zagreb can contend for the Top 16. Olimpija doesn't pay much attention to the Euroleague, unlike ABA where they always play with a chip on their shoulder; Zagreb started off poorly, but after they made a coaching change the players gelled and are playing much better.
When talking about Eurocup, Cedevita finished 3rd last season and they are one of the favourites to win it this season. Budućnost has improved greatly and they should at least reach the quarterfinals.

So yeah, there are at least 5 good teams in the ABA league and, in general, the league itself is certainly better than Eurocup and the Italian League.

I repeat, you don't know what you're talking about when saying that Zvezda is awful. They had a rough schedule through the first few games and lost a bunch of players due to injuries during that stretch. Only two players on their 14-man roster played all 8 games in ABA. Don't forget that their coach is Svetislav Pešić. Any team that has him as a coach is not a bad team.

Oh I see, so only the top 5 or so teams of ABA count........

Eurocup and Italian League are way, way, way deeper and better leagues after the top 5 teams. No comparison at all.

Adam Morrison exercised the NBA option in his contract and decided to return to United States. The former Gonzaga player was averaging more than 17ppg in Adriatic League with the Serbian team.
