Somewhere out there in never-never land Jeff George has his hand up shouting "pick me, pick me".

    Kellen Clemens:

Clemens is an active member of Catholic Athletes for Christ.[citation needed] He is married to Nicole; they reside in Whippany, NJ. Their family received an unexpected blessing when Pope Benedict blessed and kissed their four-week-old baby girl at the final procession of the Papal Mass on April 17, 2008 at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. As a show of appreciation for the blessing of his child, Kellen Clemens signed Pope Benedict's mitre.

You know who I'm somewhat surprised isn't being worked out for a reserve QB role?

...and I'm not REALLY kidding that much. At worst, he knows this system, he has thrown to these receivers before, and Kubiak loved him. I know how unpopular he is*...but he did sport an 85 QBR as a Texan in 19 games (65.6% complet, 24TD-23INT). Not saying he should bump Leinart...but he wouldn't be a bad idea to put in the mix with Yates if we're looking at the unemployed likes of Garcia, Edwards, Clemens, and Croyle.

Ah....didn't realize he WAS employed - Miami had him, and stashed him on non-football IR. Not free to sign on.

    Exactly.

It comes down to this= (Matt has ZERO CHANCE OF DOING ANYTHING)

Favre is two years removed from an absurdly good season.

That Minnesota team was bad last year. If you're working out Jeff Garcia, you should have called Favre.

Let's look at Leinart's stats from last year:

Damn, Leinart's stats from last year look pretty close to Favre's stats from this year -- minus the pee-pee games.

Yeah Ziggy, but they're just as good as Peyton's from this year.

I only understood half your post, but Jeff Garcia's recent stats should similarly make you piss yourself.

I think he may have been referring to the infamous "junk texts" over in Jersey.

Instead of just handing the ball off to foster at an important time Favre would try to be a hero and chunk an interception.

And Foster would get lit up with the threat of freaking Leinhart behind the C...

Leinart can still work in the TE's he doesn't need to be a gun slinger to keep the D in check. Favre is fine were he is doing his blue jean commercials, he gets his spotlight and we don't have to worry about him throwing a pick 6 to ruin our run.

You don't think teams were stacking the tackle box when they only had to worry about Jacoby Jones as a pass threat?

Favre could make the Texans a legitimate superbowl contender, even If it is unlikely.
Leinart can make them mediocre, at best.

If its me, I take the risk with the higher reward for this ONE year. But then again, I have superbowl aspirations for the Texans, and zero animosity for Favre, which seems to have run rampant. The fact is that he is light years better than Leinart, and If he is on his game, he is light years better than Schaub too. Worth the gamble? Sure, he may throw some picks, he may throw a lot of picks and blow the whole thing up. You have to ask yourself, Are you ok with inevitably losing with Leinart as your starting QB? A QB with effectively 0.00 chance of leading a team to a superbowl? I say roll the dice...

If Leinart blows in his next game, I suspect it is very possible...
