Win and we host C-USA Championship Dec 3. Time TBA. If Marshall wins and Southern Miss loses then we host Marshall. Friday 11am Tv: FSN (ch 37 Houston Comcast) Line: 3.5 (will get totals out when they post them) Weather: 55 degrees light rain Keenum 1,564 yds away from breaking BJ Symons record most passing yds in a season. Coogs 41 Tulsa 38 Eat Em Up Coogs!
we could easily get 50,000 for that one. Texans play the falcons the next day so not sure if they would let them play there.
If the Texans were out of town they might do it, but no chance otherwise. I can't believe Marshall is still alive for the East title... hosting them would be a total bloodletting.
Stephen F Austin and Sam Houston played at Reliant the day before a Texans game earlier this year. Of course that game that game was scheduled a year in advanced.
The CUSA championship game is controlled by the conference, not U of H, so that would probably require a whole lot more red tape to cut through as well.
Houston 44 Tulsa 23 Too much riding on this one. I think we go out and paste a but whoopin on these guys. I do believe this will be the biggest test all season and we'll get an A+.
Well, this is the one, boys. I'm sure Tulsa wants this one bad. For UH, it's probably the difference between the Sugar Bowl and the Whogivesacrap.com Bowl. The Cougars' confidence is probably sky high right now... I'd give them the mental edge. Tulsa is going to have the same trouble everyone does slowing the Coogs down. Tulsa has a couple of powerful runners and a QB that can run for 200 yards to go along with their passing game. The Cougars are a little better on both sides of the ball, but it'll come down to execution and turnovers (unlike every other game ever). Here's hoping the Coogs rise to the occassion.
We've handled bad weather already. It was windy at SMU and one other game this season there were mother gusts, can't remember which one, and we still put up huge numbers and threw the ball well. We also recovered from the Monsoon against Rice and it rained for most the game. I think we'll be ok. Weather affects both teams, as best evidenced by all the problems Rice had too with fumbles. So weather does not worry me so much. Especially with our running game. In my opinion, the advantage goes to the offense in a light rain since we know where we are going and we are fast. I think a good tackling team presents the biggest challenge to our style. SMU did a great job, and everyone saw how that helped USC against the Duckies, but you can't tackle what you can't catch.
The Tulsa coach compared UH to OSU; also said that we had one of the best defenses that they would face this season. That one surprised me. If UH can't beat Tulsa, they flat out don't deserve a BCS bowl. It is cut and dried simple. I will be shocked and disappointed if they don't win by 20+. I just feel that UH is going to run the table. I also think Ark is going to beat LSU which could make for a very, very interesting national title picture: UH vs. Ark?
Give the stakes and how determined this team is, I believe the Coogs can do this...it's destiny... Coogs: 41 Tulsa: 35 LET'S GO COOGS!!!!
It'd be cool but there is just no way UH is even in the picture for the title game. Anyway you look at it, 2 out of the 3 of Bama/LSU/Arkansas will definitely be ranked ahead of them (LSU won't fall below UH as long if it's a close loss to Ark) and most likely one out of OSU/OU will end up ahead of them too (def. OSU if they win this weekend). You'd also have to get lucky enough to have Va. Tech and Stanford both fall below UH.
Dont be too narrow minded we dont have to be in the national title game to be the champion if somehow LSU loses in the National title game in a close one and we blow out Alabama (probably has to be alabama and not arkansas) We will have the only undefeated team in the country plus destroyed the number 1 defense
