Why are people saying they feel bad for him?

He lived his dream, made millions and lasted 7 years in the league while being an undersized guard that can't dribble or shoot with minimal talent.

    Feel bad? Hardly.

One of my proudest moments of Luther as a Rocket:

I'm sure these guys are playing at a high level but for the life of me I can't understand why they couldn't learn how to dribble or play defense despite playing bball full time. Nobody's expecting him to be MJ but if b-ball's the only thing you're doing why can't you learn basic ball handling skills?

His handles and defense are bad by comparison. He can probably protect the ball and get around non-NBA players with ease. He's also pretty athletic. He can probably stay in front of most non-NBA guards easily. These things are relative.

Getting head in China is a big step for basketball, we always could use more head.

I loved Luther when he was with us the first 2-3 years, hell I have his jersey......

One of the most awkward released jump shot, but made them in the clutch..... in the regular season, I was so pissed how he played in the Playoffs, so bad, the second time we played the Jazz in '08, the Jazz just left him open... :(

I really think Morey would've kept Bonzi in '08 if he knew that Luther was going to under perform in the Playoffs, but by that time, people counted us out without Yao that year (22 Streak year)

The Rockets 3rd or 4th best offensive player was Luther Head. Then we fired JVG. Sweet deal.

I guess he won't make it to China after all..

The latest rumor is the team will bring in Michael Redd instead of him.

Michael Redd as in former Milwaukee Buck Michael Redd?

Didn't he retire a season ago?

We'll see how it goes; not sure if he's in shape. Head is reportedly injured (or so he claims) so he can't come to China this week, and as such the team doesn't want him any more.

Only NBA free agents can sign in China. The team now has a former NBA guard Mardy Collins but he sucks by Chinese standards of imports (meaning can't average 20 ppg) so a replacement is imminent.
