AdamSchefter Adam Schefter Gary Kubiak told reporters Texans worked out Jeff Garcia, Trent Edwards, Brodie Croyle, Kellen Clemens. But also said might not sign any. I wouldn't mind Jeff Garcia as an insurance plan, depending on what he has left at 41. Any of the above would be emergency-type QBs. Actually, Trent Edwards is intriguing as a third Qb... edit: DieHard Rocket originally posted this in the Brett Favre thread. I just thought it deserved its own.
Jeff Garcia? I guess Brett Favre aint so bad after all. I'm sure Jake the Snake Plummer is sitting around somewhere.
I think the bigger take home is, they are fully expecting Schaub to go on IR. ....and add Chase Clement to the list of guys being worked out.
Like I posted on the other thread... Kellen Clemens: Clemens is an active member of Catholic Athletes for Christ.[citation needed] He is married to Nicole; they reside in Whippany, NJ. Their family received an unexpected blessing when Pope Benedict blessed and kissed their four-week-old baby girl at the final procession of the Papal Mass on April 17, 2008 at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. As a show of appreciation for the blessing of his child, Kellen Clemens signed Pope Benedict's mitre. Our own Tim Tebow? Time to get Jesus on our side.
He will likely be the one they sign, if they sign anybody. He's the most in-shape out of any of the above mentioned QB's, since he just got done playing in the UFL.
Don't need any of them TBH. We should just role with Leinart/Yates till we get official word on the extent of Schaub's injury. I'm still holding out hope that he can return for the playoffs.
They need an emergency QB if Schaub is done. They will know whether or not he needs surgery by the end of this week. If he does, he's done... if he doesn't, then they likely don't need to make a move unless Leinart gets hurt prior to the end of the season.
Chase Clement UFL Superstar/former Rice superstar! Clement-Dillard most TD pairings for QB-WR in NCAA history so he KNOWS what it likes to work with a superstar WR! Clement and Casey dominating in Houston like it's 2008!
I always thought Jeff Garcia got slighted after his days with SF. Everytime I watched him play I was impressed with how he handled an offense. If we're bringing a 40+ out of retirement though, I vote for Kurt Warner.
What happened to these guys? I only followed them through stats via fantasy football, but both of their careers followed a similar path. Success for the first 5 years or so and then be it from injury or something else they each seemed to fall off a cliff?
Delhomme probably can't spell his own name anymore. Bulger no longer wants to play football, he had offers but retired anyway.
I just woke up from a nap, and I realized the future mold of success in the NFL is a modified wildcat QB !
Saw Jeff Garcia labor day weekend 2 years ago partying it up at a property overlooking the Comal River, him and Leinart would work great together.
I bet Leinart's hoping for Garcia, he would want him as a new mentor. So he can learn how to marry ex playmate of the year's. Spoiler
