We are a funny species of cat. Of the 3.5 billion women on the planet, they all basically look alike nekkid, two boobs, a hairy triangle with some foldy skin. There's not a a one that walks by that you can figure out what she would look like with no clothes on. And yet what they look like with no clothes on is the men can think about to the point that Muslims have put them in a bag and no computer work gets done, ever.

Well, it's like sports, basically one football game involves the same elements as any other. You pass some with the qb, you run some with the RB, you got big guys upfront, you defend the pass, tackle the guy with the ball, kick field goals, etc. We know what it looks like but we watch it still.

Rarely does a game deviate from the basic script except when you have Tim Tebow I guess. Don't think we are looking for totally surprising deviations here in football any more than we are looking forward to be surprised with a penis or thief nipple on a woman.

If it does not . . . I don't think we should be hypocritical or naive enough to think that If this happened in American and little Tommy and Suzie saw it. In fact, I think our country frowns up on Sexting. Girls sending naked photos to guys and vice versa. She is 20, so she a grown *ss woman, but we need not act like AMERICANS would embrace this type of behavior because simply put . .that would be a lie. No way in HELL would we be kewl with full frontal nudity on a public sight that anyone can access. Hell even the news story is blurring the naughty bits!!! For goodness sake.

I guess you don't know Muslims are generally pretty clean. They are supposed to wash their private areas before they pray.

 

Good for her, I wish her well, although I don't want her entire community to live by her rules anymore than I want her to live by their rules. Then again, looking at her picture is optional so I can't see how anyone is EXPOSED to her picture unless they decide to go to her page. These are all stupid problems necessitated by stupid ****e like borders and national pride. Conservative people also deserve a place where they can be conservative amongst themselves. I don't feel the need to force my beliefs down anyone's throats, and if you do then you are also part of the problem. If someone wants to live in a country where nudity is unacceptable, I hope they can find that place for themselves.

My favorite thing is how many in this thread, especially Dadakota, have assumed that Egyptian Christians would be ok with this - which has the underlying assumption that Egyptian Christians are like American (or whatever is familiar to the) Christians, and that all Muslims are the same.

I also love the mention of feminism as if this would be ok if it were a male lol.

The poster above brings a really good point. More often than not, in these Muslim countries which people target(Rightfully so) as ultra conservative and judgmental, you will more often than not find that the christians and other religions in the same areas have similar views and are very conservative and unaccepting, tolerant and put value and 'honor' in similar type of things. I think that it is a strong point that the region and culture of the region on oppose to merely the religion is what is 'backward'(as per western standards)
And you have to keep in mind, if you go back to America just 50 years ago then you will see ultra conservative behavior, heavy racist atrocious acts, women being abused and not allowed to ascend in society, and this was all under a supposed 'christian' country. The fact is that it was masked and used the voice of christianity or good christian behavior, but it was also similarly just more regional and cultural behavior at the time.

 

Muslims are required to clean their private parts every time they use the restroom. Overwhelming majority of Muslims do so by using water.

I think what you're referring to is "ablution" which Muslims are required to perform before they pray.

In the US, an obvious political statement would be guaranteed by the First Amendment, especially without obvious prurient content. Nudity by a non minor is not prurient; i.e. it can be art.

 

I think the bigger story should be about how the military is trying to keep all the power, lots of people hurt today in Tahrir square (I;m sure the very far far far top of the military has given orders)...In regards to the naked chick, I wish her luck, I think the ME really needs to question itself on treatment of women....though that could be said about a lot of places across the world. Having read quite a bit about this girl, I question this girls motives, she really seems like a Kim Khardashian type rather than an advocate for womens rights.

 

Regardless she could prove to be a good martyr for the women's rights cause... regardless of her intentions.

Nothing in the article documents death threats, that's what's insinuated from the headline. And a locality on the other side of the globe can decide what's inappropriate or not irrespective of your views.
