PG Russel Westbrook SG Kevin Martin SF Gerald Wallace PF Dirk Nowitzki C Tyson Chandler The first thing that pops out is the youth movement. Next is the great mixture of defense and offense. Russel Wesbrook replaces an aging Jason Kidd. He is looking more and more like a superstar point guard in the making. A great scorer, floor leader and defensive presence. I expect him to take another tremendous leap as a point guard next year and become a leader on this team well after Dirk retires. Martin is coming off one of his best years as a pro and is entering his prime as a top shooting guard in the league. His efficiency on offense will make for a great 2nd/3rd fiddle on offense next to Dirk. The perfect situation for him. Gerald Wallace struggled last year with injuries in Charlotte and then adjusting to his new team in Portland. However, just a year ago he made the all star team as well as the all-nba defensive team. He averaged 18 ppg and 10 rebound on a .484 field goal percentage and shooting 371% from 3. He consistently has averaged 1.5 steals and a block per game. Just ridiculous all around numbers and the ability to guard multiple positions. This year Dirk Nowitzki took his marginally household name to legendary. He was absolutely dominant in the playoffs last year. He is a true leader and a one of a kind scorer. He should win multiple rings with this core. Tyson Chandler established himself as one of the best centers in the league last year. He averages a double double while providing championship caliber defense. He shoots 654% which tells you he only takes smart attempts. Great efficiency and a solid, solid player. Bench Rodrigue Beabouis Richard Jefferson Caron Butler Antonio McDyess Chuck Hayes This bench is ready to provide a spark. Rodrigue Beabouis has become an increasingly valuable player around the league after his rookie year performance. Last year he suffered from injuries, but the year before, he proved to be a scorer on great efficiency. He should take strides next year in his third season as a point guard and while fully healthy. Think a slightly taller Aaron Brooks. I had a very hard time trading this guy on potential alone. Richard Jefferson did not live up to his enormous contract last year. However, this year he has most certainly lived up to his dramatically reduced salary. He can play the 2 or 3. He shot a great percentage from the field last and can still play defense. He has expanded his game to taking more 3's and connected on 440% last year. A very nice role player. Caron Butler is the 6th man on this squad. He will log minutes at the 2 and 3. Also, Wallace will split time at the 3 and 4, giving Caron a lot of minutes at the 3. Caron proved to be an all star caliber small forward before his injury. He provided great defense with the mavs and scored 15ppg on a very high efficiency. He also shot 431% from deep. He will be a real game changer coming off the bench, and will ultimately receive starter minutes. Antonio McDyess has done an admiral job as a starter next to Duncan. He should be even more effective off the bench to provide a midrange big, situational defense, and IQ. As Wallace will log many minutes at the 4, while Dirk is resting, McDyess will take a more limited role while providing great depth. Chuck Hayes has proven he can play center in the NBA. He should do very well backing up Tyson Chandler. He has the ability to shut down just about anyone, rebound the ball and has an improving offensive game. He will also log some minutes at the 4. Westbrook, Butler, Wallace, Hayes, Chandler is a solid defensive lineup which allows McDyess to man the 5 spot to spell Chandler. The rest of my team has a lot of potential. I am feeling good about the future. Rudy Fernandez - sorry buddy, it just never works out in your favor. Rudy will provide depth incase of injury and light a fire under Jefferson. Luke Babbitt was I believe the 16th pick in last year's draft. He has a lot of potential and will be given the time to develop in this system. Mahinmi has shown promise and will only get better with time. Dominique Jones in college his efficiency was through the roof. At 6'5, he can play both shooting guard and point guard. Attack the rim, defend, and he his developing a reliable jumper. Mike Bibby will provide veteran leadership and take the reigns from Beabouis if he is overwhelmed come playoff time. I still have all of my draft picks to add to Westbrook and the future squad. I feel I have taken a championship roster and made them better while drastically extending the life of the team. Westbrook replaces Kidd, Martin replaces Terry, and Wallace is a matrix of old. I have preserved my youth and draft picks for the future and brought in highly efficient players at every position. The defense of the team overall looks much improved, while the offense has taken a huge step forward. I feel I have taken a championship team and turned them into a dynasty.
I have the Celtics: Championship and my current roster is: pg: Rajon Rondo/Nate Robinson/Carlos Arroyo sg: James Harden/Von Wafer/Etwaun Moore/Avery Bradley sf: Paul Pierce/Brandon Roy/Sasha Pavolvic pf: Lamarcus Aldridge/Nenad Kristic/Troy Murphy C: Serge Ibaka/Jermaine O'neal Currently own: 2 second round picks Additions: Harden, Roy, Aldridge, Ibaka First off, I tried to create a mix of being able to contend now for a championship but I also made sure I'd have a solid core for the future. I have a solid core of Rondo/Harden/Aldridge/Ibaka who I can work with and will help the Celtics be a contender for many years to come. The roster Now: As I said before, this team can make a serious run for the title. I have a great pg in rondo who can play great defense, get everyone involved, and get the other guys easy shots. Then I have harden who is a budding star. He can do a little bit of everything out there: He can spot up, attack one-on-one, work a nice pick-and-roll and can catch and shoot. There aren’t many weaknesses here.He is also a good defender with good length and quickness. Then I have the clutch veteran on my team, Paul Pierce. He can get the team a score whenever it needs and he can truly carry the team if need be (although with the supporting cast, he will rarely have to do that :grin. The major trade I had was trading away KG for Aldridge. He is a great two way player and will only get better. He is extremely efficient and gets to the foul line and is solid in the post when he's one-on-one. I also fixed the issue with the Center by picking up Ibaka. Yes, he's a tweener but he's shown that he can play the 5 and with the help of Aldridge down there, he should be just fine. Ibaka's athleticism should allow him to get plenty of blocked shots and will be able to help on drives. For the bench, I have Brandon Roy who will be a solid 6th man at worst, and if he can come back to half the form he was in before the injury, look out. If that happens somehow, I would switch Roy and Harden. Then I have a spark in Wafer (remember those exciting rocket years!). Nate is also a solid pg coming off the bench who can score. Jermaine Oneal is also a veteran presence coming off the bench to play some D. The basic gameplan would be to work inside- out with Aldridge. If you double Aldridge, there are still two great shooters out there in Pierce and Harden. There would also be some pick and rolls mixed in there with rondo/harden and aldridge. Since this team has some solid defenders, the fast break will be a good source of points as well with rondo and harden running the break. Pierce will be pierce and get those buckets when the offense is stagnant and nothing is going well. When it comes to the clutch time in the playoffs, my team will excel because of the experience in the playoffs. Rondo and Pierce have been there in the finals and Aldridge, Ibaka, and Harden have gotten to the playoffs as well(with Ibaka and Harden getting far this year). I have proven clutch players who will take and make the tough shots in Pierce and Aldridge. All in all, this team will be a major contender and will be a tough out in any series. For the furure: As I mentioned before, I will have a great core of Rondo/Harden/Aldridge/Ibaka to work with in the future who will bring many championships to Boston. Rondo should get better and will hopefully work on his jumpshot. Harden WILL become a beast and a star. Aldridge will only get better. Ibaka has great potential to become a better defender and even better offensively. Conclusion: The Boston Celtics have a lineup that can win it all now and later. They have a great core for the future in Rondo/Harden/Aldridge/Ibaka. For now, the talent, experience, heart, and "clutchness" of this team can help them win a championship. They will fight hard and will be tough to beat any given night.

This was fun. I like wheeling and dealing with you guys. I may not win because you guys have some tough looking teams, but I'd like to do this again, but this time as a rebuilder, not a championship'er.
I had fun, too. I wish more people would've actively participated and I really wanted to do the draft. Oh well, I hope there is another one since there may not be a real NBA season.

Really? That sucks. You didn't have anything that really caught my eye, but I'd sure as hell welcome dumping a veteran player's salary or at least adding draft picks. I hate my power company.
