Very cynical about the economics of this. Someone's paying licensing fees they couldn't afford for a program nobody else could distribute. Do you honestly think Cera, Bateman or even Arnett are going to committ full time to an online stream?

Wow. That is surprising. I thought for sure that the new episodes would be on broadcast television.

I don't know either, but it's a bold move ... the Arrested Development side probably gets a lot of stake in new sales for streaming customers. It's like the difference between taking a job at an established company (solid pay and benefits but not much stake in the company) and a start-up company (lots of stock options). The AD team is likely banking that their cult hit will significantly increase the amount of users on Netflix.

I'm assuming they won't be limited by network TV censorship, like they were at FOX, either.

    no netflix in Europe...:(

I signed up for lovefilms.de (owned by Amazon) to find on my first download that on-demand is in German only. So then signed up for lovefilms.com in UK to find out Germany is out of their region, even for downloads.

Then went to Barcelona for a weekend to find my credit card was blocked for security reasons. I called my bank and saw I had two, free trial $1 charges to lovefilms, the second one blocked. The woman asked me all the necessary security questions to confirm who I was, but as part of it asked about my most recent charges....

I'm looking at my account online while talking to her and say, well, there are two lovefilms charges...and as I was finishing that sentence I realized how much that sounds like p*rn sites. She was somewhat silent. From her perspective, I signed up for two lovefilms p*rn sites in UK and DE within 30 minutes.

yeah, somewhat an awkward moment. "No really, those are legitimate websites!"

I did not think about the censorship factor. They will be able to do and say what every they want.

This is going to be epic

I do believe it's telling that, nine years after the fact, Nathan Fillion says this:

I quite often find bleeping a word funnier than the actually saying the word.

Unless the producers want it to get re-syndicated someday on network television.

I know this is random, but:

I can never look at Adam Baldwin (firefly) without thinking of Linderman. It's crazy that that movie made such an impression on me.

I think it is because his acting style has never wavered far from that character.

Back in 2009 Rupert Murdoch started charging for his online newspapers. People couldn't believe that would work because everyone else before him had failed.
