Wow, Southern Miss. slipped up, against UAB. UH killed UAB on their home turf. The SMU game may not be the close struggle some think. Tulsa may be the major obstacle, maybe not. I don't know what to think. I don't think UH is the same team that played UTEP and that La team. They appear to be much better. Maybe they are even better than we think they are.
pics from College Gameday @ UH - Friday 11/18 Campus already rocking, images spoilered' for size. And also, Erin Andrews FTW! Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
I like UH. But they bandwagoners get on my nerves. You know people who went to UH, they never talk about their team much less football, then all of sudden they're painting their cars red.
Yep. Being a season ticket holder and somebody who has been going to games since when you could literally sit on the front row even if you got there 10 minutes after kickoff, it's been fun watching people scramble for tickets this week. Especially the people who do nothing but b**** about the program and denigrate it, even though they haven't ever been to game or cut a check to the athletic department. I just hope all these new fans stay around a while (UH football is actually a lot of fun, even when they're not winning) and keep it classy.
Take out UH and replace it with *ANY SPORTS TEAM EVER and .....yep. I'm 2000-2004 UH alum for undergrad and agree. You will see more UH fans coming out of the woodwork just for the fact that Khator and company are getting things turned in the right direction. Campus feels different now. It's a good thing.
The E. Cullen building on ESPN is such a great site and it makes me incredibly proud. I've seen the school and the student body change a lot over the past few years and it will only get better. Now lets get this BCS bowl locked down! Go Coogs!
The "small fan base" that everyone in the world is taking about is based on the "years of misery" not the history of UH sports. Lean years will shrink support, but the classic periods of UH athletics were well supported. I have stood in many a line through the years. UH has a huge potential fan base if they keep their programs on track. Being left out of the Big Twelve was not only hateful, but devastating. It has taken years to get over. UT et al were embarrassed when UH entered the SWC and dominated; they wanted us "out" at first opportunity. That is why I want to sweep the rest of the games and play UT in a bowl. I don't think the Horns are going to make it though.
Yeah, me too. A lot of great things going on at UH. Hopefully, next season will be same thing as this season. Go Coogs!
SMU has a scary offense. They have scored 40 points 3 times already, and they haven't played Rice yet, so they scored all those points against actual football teams! Still I think we are a couple touchdowns better than the Ponies, next week is the real test.
As an Aggie graduate & official member of the fabled Southeastern Conference (ha, suckers) -- this isn't true. It shouldn't be true. Not in college sports... our fans show up regardless of what the record is. UH'ers are notoriously bad though.
For football....cause the entertainment options in College Station are so vast. I remember when the Aggies were in the SWC and what their basketball attendance was like when the Aggies had a bad program.
MarkBermanFox26 Mark Berman SMU's June Jones on Case Keenum: "He's had a remarkable career and he's throwing it right now about as good as anybody can." MarkBermanFox26 Mark Berman June Jones on Case Keenum: "He's kind of a little bit like Aaron Rodgers. You get right next to him and the ball's gone." MarkBermanFox26 Mark Berman June Jones' view on Case Keenum in the race for the Heisman Trophy: "to me he oughta be on the top of the list."
This game would've actually been better 30 years ago. Now it just seems like the third quarter of an Oilers playoff game.
Who is more pitiful... Houston for being forced to schedule "weak" opponents, or the "good" teams that duck scheduling Houston? Anyone. Anytime. Anywhere. P.S. I'm guessing you haven't seen a single Tulsa game, nor do you know anything about their team, which is every bit of a top 40 program this year.
Tulsa's only losses have been against top 10 teams. I'd say they're pretty good. http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/202/tulsa-golden-hurricane
