Dammit. The realities of adult life are encroaching more and more upon my free time these days, and I just can't commit to a time sucker of this magnitude. But I made the mistake of renting it just to get a taste, and now I'm sad.
know the feeling I dont have the time to devote to really making progress. I'm only at level 12 and have yet to venture far outside of the main area....basically been dungeon clearing to get gear to sell. Ive only fought one dragon outside of Dragonsreach, but have run into two others...one time I ran across a giant v dragon, but made the mistake of launching a fire attack just as the dragon died and it hit the giant, who of course got mad and knocked me into next week. Damn addicting game.
It sounds strange to say, but I think one of the more addicting aspects of the game is the music. Because it's so well done, it adds a sense of importance to even the most mundane activities. I'm never bored, even when crossing vast empty plains on foot.
The game is just so damned huge. I keep running into people who have quests for me. Fortunately I have the next 10 days off so I'm going to get fat and happy in front of my PC.
Translation: lets all get gay and swing our swords! lol, no really, trying to get the materials to make me an elven blade!
I want to get it so bad but I'm going to wait til May when i graduate ha. This would just take up too much of my time. I was a bigger fan of Morrowind than Oblivion, which is this game more similar to? Oblivion gates annoyed me more than anything.
there is no primary/secondary skills therefore lvling goes off any skill, unlike all the prior TES games where it was just off the primary skills. I havent noticed mobs lvling up with me like they did in Oblivion so more like Morrowind in terms you can get higher lvl then mobs and whoop dat easily! You can become a werewolf like in Morrowind....dont know about vampire. Archery is beautiful, dual casting is art!
I am about 2 hours in so just started. At times the textures can be a little jarring, especially close up on the 360, but I really don't play Elder Scrolls games for the graphics anyways. Made a pure melee/archery Nord that won't touch any sort of magic at all(aside from powers and shouts). Then will probably do a pure mage on my second playthrough. Gives the game a bit more replayability instead of mixing it all together(not that the game needs it, at all).
Not only is there a main quest. There are TRUE side quests, daedric quests, mage quests, thief quests, dark brotherhood quests, companion quests AND misc. quests. To top if off, the misc. quests are unlimited. Want a quest? Ask about rumors at bars and stuff.
Broke down and bought it last night after spending a couple days reading this thread. First video game I've played since Dragon Age and it is ****ing amazing. Playing a Sword & Board Orc. Loving combat so far. Elder Scrolls has come a long way since Daggerfall.
I think one of the nice things is that once you max those skills out you can keep going with other skills so you dont have to start over. You can switch your stones to speed up progress on any skills at any time. Why start over and waste progress on money, houses, wife's (or husband if thats what you roll) and mats.
University is soakin me up, bought game at release but only reached lvl 12. Over are the days of playing hours per day. Too good holidays will start ~March when ME III comes out, will play these games all day for three months.
Just had the best moment ever. There's some minor spoilers, however, about the city of Markath. I finished that quest where you're trying to investigate the Forsworn and it ends with you getting framed for a murder. I'm guessing it's supposed to end with you getting thrown in jail, and working with the king who's in there to clear your name. My actual response? Tell the guards "Screw you", hack through about 20 of them, run and sneak through the city, jump on my horse, and ride away as an army of guards chase me. It was glorious.
lol awesome... I've done that quest already too and gone through the other way but that sounds pretty badass too. I think it's great that these 'side' quests are so fully fleshed out
How far is everyone in the MAIN quest? Spoiler I'm just currently joined forces with Hermora Mora (sp?) a Daedric Prince. After I get some **** for him he's going to kill off Septimus.
