Is Scola, or other Rockets players playing in other leagues right now? If so does anyone have links where we can watch their games online?

    Scola hasn't signed anywhere yet.

Eliyahu, Leunen, Llull & Motiejunas are playing in the Euroleague, as well as other domestic leagues & cups.

You can subscribe to Euroleague TV and/or go for the free & mostly crappy feeds you'll find all over the internet (e.g. shady sites like firstrowsports, chanfeed, oleoletv or lshunter).

Yes, this thread can come in handy. If any our Rockets are playing overseas, please use this thread and post game links. It's all we have for now.

Would Scola count as a foreign player in the Euro league?

I was not sure of the rules, I believe they can have only so many non-Euro players, right?

Was not sure if they excluded South American players or not.

I'm not totally sure about the American player limit rules as far as the Euroleague goes, but Scola has a Spanish passport, so it wouldn't matter in his case.

FYI, there are legal streams you know. Ones that run ads and have deals.

No. Euroleague is the same as the NBA. No rules about player nationalities. BTW, it's called Euroleague, one word.

Scola only had a Spanish passport because of old rules in Spain that allowed players to count as "Spanish" if they played there so long. Those rules have since been changed since he went to the NBA.

He would no longer have a Spanish passport under the new rules. He would count as non-Bosman, meaning not from Europe. So he would take up a non-European roster spot.

He could probably get an Italian passport though, since he has Italian lineage. Either way it would not matter for Euroleague as they have no such rules. It only matters in national leagues.

And besides, any player is counted as a foreigner, regardless of being European or not, unless they have the passport of the country they are playing in. If you are French, but play in Spain, or if you are Italian, but play in Greece - you are a foreign player. And that is true for all leagues in Europe.

So in reality it really doesn't even matter, especially for the simple fact that you can play in Euroleague regardless as it has no rules about player nationalities.

No it wasn't because just like 2 posts prior you asked if south americans counted as europeans. you didn't mention anything about people with european passports being counted as european. just saying.
