Every little bit helps and an extra 3% or so would hardly hurt someone who takes in $500,000 per year. Such a move would allow us to dramatically cut the deficit virtually overnight without negatively impacting American's lives in any meaningful way.

Do a search for "contribution". It's a government website, don't expect it to be efficient or competent.

Ofcourse, some conservatives don't have simple comprehension skills. They want all millionaires to pay more taxes, they don't personally want to pay more taxes. But if every millionaire pays more, than the improvement in the country would outweigh their personal sacrifice.

A lot of people I know like me, moderate leaning liberal, are so sick of this.

I think it is starting to hurt the cause now. I mean, there's "Occupy Berkeley." How stupid is that?

I mean, if you want to go camping, go camping. If you want to change things, (and I for one do), it's time to get organized and start some real strategy and communication. Camping and chanting has run its course and now I truly think they're driving people away from the cause.

OK I see it there. That said it doesn't appear like this is something that is publicized.

That's why I said the movement needs to move beyond occupy. Occupation has sidetracked the message as it has become more of a struggle to occupy than address the other problems.

I'm starting to lean this way for the reason you gave. I'm a strong supporter of what's behind the "Occupy" movement... the rape of the middle class by the big corporations and the 1%, who are ardently trying to line their pockets at our expense and buying our elections, but the "Occupy" stuff has gone on long enough. Like glynch, I'm an old Vietnam War street protester, so it took a lot to get me to come around to this view. Why not switch tactics and march down Wall Street every working day. I'm cool with mass protests. Just end the camping out part.

are you cool with the Tea Party's violence, Islamophobia, vandalism and destruction of Congressional offices, threats that caused public officials to resign, and general support for neo-Nazis?

I completely agree with this. I just said this exact same thing to a friend today.

You made your point. Now it's time to go home, take a shower, get organized and really be able to create change.

Facts to lies---an interesting choice of words. I suppose they will always be lies for you.

The Occupy crap is working because people are thinking and talking about the issues. It's supposed to be annoying. If people are comfortable they don't think about things.

It will translate into voter registration, and closer to the election, actual debate and discourse as candidates are directly questioned. It's messy democracy at work; get some popcorn and watch.

What does it matter? From either movement? We aren't talking about Brown Shirts in America. There is just normal petty crime around the issues, it really has nothing to do with the course of the issues or strategy of the organizers.

You spend your time on the distractions.
