Selig seems so full of sh_t. He's praising up the new owner and the investment group like they are so great. Yet, noone would approve the sale without the move to the AL. If the buyers said "no" to the AL move, then Selig wouldn't be saying any of that and the Astros sale would be rejected. Just call it what it is and I have no problem with it. This was MLB strong-arming a buyer and basically saying "accept it or no deal". A lot of hatred directed toward Crane...but I'm not sure I see it that way. I see the MLB picked the Astros to pull this sh_t on because they were the ones up for sale with a buyer's group. How can you blame Crane for buying the team under such circumstances? Any one of us would buy the team if we were in that position. You think we would all be going..."uh...I don't want to piss off the fan base". No way.
obviously you've also bought the myth. a) ALL teams considered, the AL is not considerably better than the NL. b) these things are cyclical. Come on now, you're smarter than that.
Forget it, I'm not excited. I've been watching the Astros and the National league for almost 50 years, I don't want a change. For me this is like the Texans moving to the Canadian Football league. Maybe if you are a young kid and haven't been following the National league for very long, then maybe this doesn't seem like such a big deal. Screw the AL and all it's stupid rules, and all it's teams I don't care anything about.
maybe not considerably better, but just look at the final wild card standings in the AL compared the NL. maybe theres becoming to be more parity in the league, but i still believe the AL takes it.
damn..more than 50 years? i think mostly anyone is a young kid compared to you. I kid, I kid. and Canadian league? come on now, lets not be so dramatic here.
Who gives a **** about competition? This is an NL team, it always has been. If your an Astros fan, and not pissed about this, then well, you aren't an Astros fan. And if the AL has been better, the past 3 out of 4 World Series teams are from the NL.
Baseball fans are old and all about traditions. Young people who don't have a problem with it are not even baseball fans.
I wouldn't take it that far. People are allowed to feel and think differently. I have no doubts BS is a fan of the Astros.
oops, i didnt pay attention to that. Well seems like the AL seems to get the better most of those cycles.
It's not a bad comparison. Different league, different rules. It's not like the NFL where the AFC and NFC play by the same rules and the style of play isn't different.
Agreed. If he's fine with it, that's his decision. I object to him telling the rest of us that we should be excited like him, but that also doesn't mean that we should doubt his loyalties.
I would like to add to the *uck bud and crane this *hit suck whale balls bud has *ucked the astros again.
Yea didn't mean to question his legitimacy as a fan, but I just don't see how any diehard Astros fan can see this as a good thing for the franchise. MLB just took a **** on the Astros, no way of getting around that. I wonder what the fans of the Yankees/Red Sox would do if Selig told them they were moving to the NL.
Are the A's going to be in Oakland long term? Any chance they move to this region? Stadium is like 50 years old im guessing
It is? Well ****, I guess I should be happy that our bottom feeding team will be playing a harder schedule. I go to the games to watch my team. I really don't care about the opponent.
He's not the only one. The National League plays baseball. The American League plays an abomination called baseball.
