Responding to cardpire's response in the last thread:

That's why I said, given the economics of baseball...because local TV market money matters and matters big time in baseball. It doesn't in football, because they all share media dollars equally.

There is no available market close to the size necessary to truly support a baseball team on the level that Houston can with its market size. The Comcast deal made this franchise very attractive.

The very least Crane could've done (VERY least) was to stipulate that if MLB ever expanded or contracted, that the Astros would have the option of moving back to the NL. So if MLB expanded by two, both teams could be in the AL and the Astros could move back to the NL.

I'm excited. The for a fresh start. If that means we get fresh fans to replace the one who leave then so be it.

by agreeing to that, selig would be openly admitting that he's screwing us over.

i hope they do move. i hope mmp is imploded and discovery green expanded. i hope the entire mlb is complicit in the cover-up of the sustained child abuse by bud selig, it's revealed and the league has to disband.

It's not like he's really covering that up now, is he? Everybody knows that the reason we're moving is because due to the ownership change, we're the only team he had leverage over. As far as I know, Selig's not trying to hide that or spin it into something different.

Fresh start? We're still gonna suck. And even when/if we become contenders/respectable again, we'll still have to live with the fact that we were helplessly bent over by the league led by that ****head Bud Selig and take it like we're some boy in Second Mile. The ones I don't get are the ones oblivious to the fact we are getting bent over, or even worse the ones who are liking it.

So, I guess that whole piece on breaking the lease language was fluff?

The HCSA can't lock the Astros out until they start play in the AL. Plenty of time to make threats.

I've been a lot of bad transcriptions of quotes in sports articles lately. "You're only as good as you're last win." Really? Somebody transcribed it that way? The other day I saw a quote by Andre Johnson where they wrote "hear" instead of "here". Journalism has gone to ****.

    /ot rant

Really this map probably looks better now. That AL West area was still coming out to Texas, but the NL Central which is now the most geographicaly compact division in baseball was also coming all the way down to Texas.

    Map fail.
