It was explained. They hit the ball so hard it sounds like thunder. they need thunder to drown out the noise, so no one notices.
Wait..one thing I didn't get. Did he have to pay to be in the contest? No, Gordie...they just let him in. Ohhh...great story then.
During the shoot, I've heard that Bill Murray was just making up random things to say in Lost in Translation, most of them pretty crude to try and catch her off guard. WHen people ask him what he said, he likes to make up something just for giggles. I've seen that the line used in the film was...
Cloudy days and thunderstorms are not the same thing. It was clearly stated they needed to play during thunderstorms. The loud crack of the bat on the ball had to be masked by the thunder. Besides, the Sun does not hurt them. It just changes their appearance and exposes them as vampires. I'm somewhat embarrassed for knowing this. I blame it on my nieces.
OK I've never watched these movies and never will, but that is the dumbest excuse I've ever heard. They hit the ball so hard it will sound like thunder? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL The things teenage girls will pay to watch.
ROFL Only in a movie designed to give teenage girls their first set of wet panties would a writer even think to discuss how hard a vampire throws a fastball or what it sounds like when they hit them.
Also even though it's a guess - Michael was being tough in the negotiations on the Roth deal. If they get rid of him, then possibly Fredo takes over and makes any deal with Roth. Also just as a side note. I have been watching Godfather 1 & 2 over and over and over again. Mafia, Cosa Nostra are only mentioned once, in Godfather 2. But one word that is mentioned over and over and over in both movies is "business". I think about the state of business today and think how some of these banks have learned something from the mob. Art imitating Life imitating Art.
