Please, our pitchers were better hitters than half our position players.

And now the other teams will score more runs.

precisely. they know most Astros fans will still love their team. they know we won't go anywhere. they know there's only one MLB gig within four hours.

...and they don't care whether our Astros lose central Texas entirely to the freaking rangers.

they do this crap because they can. *#*# em. *#*#* em all.

I'm not sure you're going to get anyone to regurgitate it for you again. We've hashed and re-hashed our feelings on this for months. Suffice to say, if it doesn't bother you then good for you. Just please don't disrespect anyone who feels differently.

There just are so many more elements of strategy in the national league game, do you leave in a pitcher who is mowing them down in a 1-1 game with 2 on and 1 out.....do you pinch hit. Likely you bunt...but you could try to catch the defense of guard by having him try to whack it over one of the charging infielders heads.

If you have a guy who can't play the field anymore then you have to decide if his contributions at the plate are worth the runs he gives back, especially if you already have an established 1st baseman.

A DH is like a kicker in football, he isn't a baseball player. Heck even a kicker and a punter go down and help cover their kickoffs and punts.

At least at one point the AL had the advantage that you might get to see two great pitchers go at it for 9 innings. In the overmanaging era there is no way 2 managers are going to resist going to the pen for their "left-hander who comes in just to get a left hander out" followed by the "right hander that comes in to get the other two guys out before giving way to the 7th inning set up guy, who makes way for the 8th inning guy who MUST come out so the closer can get into the game".

The ONLY good thing about the AL, besides the national media can't totally ignore you when you play their beloved Yankees and Red Sox....is that if you have an Adam Everett type, it's a little easier to justify when you can hit him 9th....so you probably see a little more leather.

It's a perfect storm to shaft Houston, Crane is just sketchy enough that baseball can justify turning him down, but not sketchy enough that accepting him would be controversial. So they get to play Let's Make a Deal and we get to play our road games at 9:30 p.m or in Dallas with 150 degree heat. Whoopie, sounds like fun.

or better yet, every other year we get to pay artificially inflated ticket prices for three games with the Yankees!!!!!!1

You know what, on that front: I'm sick and damned tired of people acting like the damned Yankees are so ********** special. As if they're the only franchise with any ******** history in MLB. Get out a ********* history and book and read something. **** the Yankees. Give me the Dodgers, Giants, and Cardinals every day of the week, and a doubleheader on Sunday.

Rep'd. I'm so sick of how playing more games with Yankees/Red Sox should be a positive. **** them.

On a related note, Selig's going to make the draft even harder for small-market teams to compete: slot recommendations (we saw how THAT has helped the Astros), losing a 1st rd pick if going over the slot, removing compensation picks if FA leaves, etc. All this save less money than what an over-the-hill player like Brett Myers makes in a year.

But hey, anything that benefits the Yankees/Red Sox should be good for baseball right?

I'm just disgusted with this. I'm about done with Baseball. There is no need for two different leagues with different rules. I don't care anything about a rivalry with the Rangers.

    Yea **** this ****.

Just another kick in the nuts while the Astros are down.

Those owners couldn't approve us between the months of April-October?

Now they unanimously do because we have accepted to move to the AL

Now I get to watch late AL West Games, a fat overpaid DH, and teams I could give a **** about.

    **** you major league baseball.

I dont understand the hate for the move either. If you come to think of it, I actually think the move will benefit us. Obviously theres better competition out in the AL, so I think thats gonna really expose our weaknesses and HOPEFULLY force ownership to really go out there and improve our team.

Im excited, as you all should be too.

    Bingo!

I understand people being upset but this is not even close to losing the oilers simply a change...

Fans will be back main frustration is having a 100 + loss team....THis is just something else to vent about...
