I am wanting to apply for the Chase sapphire or freedom card but i have a credit card of theirs, i am wondering would it hurt if i applied and was accepted?
Be sure to go and sign up for the 5% rewards n the website, unfortunately they don't just give it to you. You can sign up to receive a text each quarter that you respond to, which will then sign you up for the 5% rewards that quarter. I think this month department stores is one of them. Pugs
Not at all. I have 2 Citi cards, and also signed for 2 Amex cards at the same time, and was approved for both, just to get the immediate cash reward. Pugs
yes, it dings your credit initially. but once approved, it should improve since you'll have a higher credit line, assuming you don't max out your CCs.
What Macalu said. Also, as long as you don't have a lot of hard hits (10-15 or more), it doesn't hurt you. Hard hits stay on your report for about 6 months usually, but as long as you don't overdo it, you'll be ok. The positives outweigh the negatives. Also, after you've had the card for 6 months, assuming you're responsible enough, ask for a higher limit. Once again, like macalu said, a higher credit line is better because it improves your limit to debt ratio. Pugs
Thank you guys.well i've never miss a credit card payment, and i pay all in full and i am wanting to get another reward card because of this thread . Thanks again.
BUMP Well I just found out my CC had a rewards program and after making a phone call to get back some expired points that I didn't know I had (81,000), I now have about 135,000 points to play with. Looking at a TV and an Ipad. On a related note, my mortgage is with Chase and thinking about switching my regular banking to Chase, the Chase Freedom CC sounds nice.
I have been saving my points, I am going to pay off my credit card and redeem the points for cash. Then, bye bye Wells Fargo you piece of sht bank....
