Look at how Obama won election to the State Senate -- by getting his opponent disqualified from the race. Look at how Obama won election to the US Senate -- by covertly backing the Chicago newspaper's efforts to unseal Jack Ryan's divorce/custody records (despite publicly opposing it -- a farce). Look at the NYT hit piece on John McCain late in the GOP primary the last general election. Did anyone not expect a hit on the GOP frontrunner Herman Cain? Obama's handlers are scared of Cain, because Obama's race-based intimidation tactics will not work against a black man the same way they did against Hillary. Cain will attack Obama and make him look like a weak egghead, while at the same time splinting off the black automaton votes. Everything Obama does is political, and he will stoop to the lowest level (using race-based tactics and ultimately inciting riots), as I have said before. It's the Chicago way, and it's the Saul Alinsky way.

I feel pretty confident in saying that the hatchet can be traced back to someone in the GOP, probably a supporter of Romney. And I disagree that Obama is afraid of Cain. I think Obama (and Democrats) are afraid of Romney, because he's a smooth talking, and polished politician, with a proven ability to reach out to moderate voters. Cain shoots from the hip, and that always catches up to a politician.

I don't enjoy saying this, but I think it's going to be Romney/Rubio in a blowout.

    :(

Pretty sure the Dems much rather have Cain than Romney. Just see the h2h polls.

Tiresome, uncited, incoherent grumpy old guy rant. Obama would win this over Romney or Perry, and Cain would lose every white female vote in country.

By all means, lets vote for a Neanderthal. He can just go down to Congress and club a few of them on the head to get a national investment banking reform bill passed.

If Obama loses it is because he was too cautious in addressing the great problems he inherited. The times did not call for a careful compromiser with the forces that caused the disaster.

Do you really believe that Obama could've passed a more radical agenda?

No bigger Obamaboy than me, but yes in the first two years he could have and should have. Bush tax cut should have be allowed to expire.

I think there are a few things that he could've like letting the Bush tax cuts expire, but overall I don't think he could've gotten more passed. He certainly couldn't have gotten a single payer plan passed and probably not a public option.

The stuff that bothers me about the Obama Admin. are things that are primarily in the executive purview such as national security policy where he doesn't have to negotiate with Congress but I think it is unrealistic to expect Obama to have passed a much more liberal legislative agenda.

Since he isn't a serious candidate and is really only running to jack up his speaking fees and sell books it isn't really fair.

It's like he's in school, but only has to appear to be a student. He won't actually be graded at all. All he has to do is appear to be serious about school. It doesn't matter that he really doesn't have any of the information needed to get a good grade, or that he's tardy to class, or disrespectful of some of his fellow students, or teachers.

Nice use of the strawman "radical agenda". How about some modest things like repealing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy and not doing the bs thing about budget deficits for months while unemployment lingered etc.

The Occupy Movement shows that there was support for something other than triangulating with Cantor and Boehner.

The presidency is about more than doing backroom legislative deals. You show a lack of appreciation for the bully pulpit, the office and even the plight of most Americans.

Umm... You cite Obama's agenda as being "cautious" and he as a "compromiser" which means that you are looking for a more radical agenda since "radical" in this regard is the opposite of the terms that you cite. Why criticize Obama for being a compromiser if "radical" isn't what you want him to be?

As far as the Bush tax cuts if you noticed in my post I agreed that he should've allowed those to expire. That said checking the legislative score card he did get a lot for them like the extension of unemployment benefits and the repeal of DADT.

In this case then would you have been fine with Obama holding his ground in regard to the Bush tax cuts if that meant that unemployment benefits were not extended?

Except that Cantor and Boehnor actually are in office and control votes in Congress. Do you think the OWS, which didn't exist up until 2 months ago, could've forced them Congressional Republicans to compromies?

You don't think Obama hasn't used the bully pulpit? Do you think that will convince Congressional Republicans to pass Obama's agenda?

Anyway incase you missed it in the post you responded to I pointed out how I am disappointed in that he hasn't done more using the executive power that he has.

And really that last line is very petty.

Sorry, your passionless approach to these issues gets to me sometimes. I spend all day listening to the suffering of the lower part of the 99%.

BTW I also think that is part of Obama's problem. Folks just don't see him as feeling their pain. They wanted change, not a cautious law professor/facilitator. "on the one hand we have the argument for torture warrants and miliitary trials without the rules of evidence on the otherhand..."

This shows my whole point. You may state an awareness of the bully pulpit or other aspects of the presidency, but you show perhaps unconsciously but clearly that it is almost exclusively about legislation. I believe Obama thinks similarly and is one of the reason why he is so desperate to compromise and pass legislation ,virtually any legislation, no matter how cautious or inadequate to the problem.
