I'm told Portland and Sacto too RT @tribjazz: #UtahJazz weren't represented during today's #TheNBPA meeting.

John Salmons was there, and he's technically a King. But not a rep.

The current CBA proposal has contraction of two teams as a B-list item. This is no longer about me and Bill Simmons speculation. This is on the agenda.

I have my explanation, but probably already spoke too much here. I kinda just want to listen now...talk to me about this B-list item. Why is contraction of two teams a B-list item instead of an A-list??

As an owner, I bought the franchise for fun and knowing the franchise licenses grow much faster than bonds.

    next...

RT @RoyceWebb: #NBANuclearWinter Big Baby asks the owners and players to chill and cut out the macho nonsense. #TrueStory

Fantastic article by @SI_IanThomsen on why the owners and players will regret this nonsense in years to come. http://t.co/ZwNmp2fo

The union would not go for contraction.

Every union from the AFL-CIO to the UAW is about job guarantees, even the NBPA and their fight for guaranteed contracts. That's why union members pay the dues.

So the "hardline" owners would be for contraction? I said, neither side in majority is for this, but it is the correct thing, and each side has a minority in favor of this. Thus, why Stern hides it in a B-list item, which is clearly a Have item vs an Have not item.

Do you not see this? The Haves and the want-to-be-Haves want to kill the dead weight in the league. Do you not see this? This isn't about the union...hence, a B-list item that the owners are trying to sneak by.

2 teams means 30 players lose jobs, which means every team gets better because eventually the 30 worst players are purged as the worthy ones are retained. The league level of play only gets better with 2 less teams and 30 less players.

Survival of the fittest makes the league better.

Because as a B-list item, it can easily be negotiated away for other b-list items like raising the age limit. The owners weren't going to ever be hardline on it because they know it's a deal-killer and they aren't even going to be in agreement on it because I'm sure a handful of owners would be afraid that they were the franchises on the chopping block.
