This is not the Colts situation. Schaub has been in game management mode since AJ went down and Leinart should be able to replicate that. We'll be ok.

Well, after reading that ESPN article I'm a little hopeful.

Well he's an idiot then, and as soon as I heard him say that I changed the station. Leinart is trash and we've gone back to basically having David Carr v2 running this offense.

The Texans will probably go .500 the rest of the way and get rolled in the first round of the playoffs. This is still on Kubiak however for not getting a decent backup.

He said this Texans team can have similar success that the 1986 and 1990 NY Giants had.

Not really a great QB but an A+ running game with a top defense.

    How is everything Kubiak's fault.

As far as I can tell, we can do alot worse than Leinhart right now, alot worse.

Ok guys, time for a shot of optimism again. If something like this were to happen, right now is the best possible time. Leinart will have a full week to run with the starters, and get comfortable with them. Plus, he's not getting thrown into a game where Schaub got injured in the third quarter of a tie game. He's going to have plenty of time to do mental reps with the coaching staff, and calmly work through his routine.

Plus, he will have 6 weeks to round into form with the team before the playoffs begin. This isn't Week 15 where you only have 2 weeks before the lights REALLY turn on. After my initial shock, I am starting to step back from the ledge, and gain a little more optimism. This could be the defining moment for both Matt Leinart AND Gary Kubiak. If Kubiak can get Leinart to lead this team to the promised land (a playoff victory), then he deserves to win COY.

I've had problems with Kubiak in the past with his decision making but how many other teams have back ups that can start in the league in the middle of the year? Let's be honest here...what other decent back up was out there during the off season?

LOL, some caller on 790 bout an hour go said we should convince Brett Favre to come out of retirement and just let him run fade routes to AJ all day.

I would feel better if we had Sage back there than Leinart. Seriously guys he's terrible.

Maybe we could go with Yates after we lose a few in a row.

I'll bet 20 buck to the tip jar, Leinart has less than 2 interceptions against JAX. You game?

    Bad news?
    Yes.

    Terrible news?
    Probably.

    End-of-the-world news?
    No.

I don't think Leinart is the Savior. But, just like everybody else posting on this board, I also haven't seen him play in real game situations after over a year of studying and practicing the offense he claims to really like. He claims to be comfortable with this system (unlike in AZ) and from all accounts he's put in the work to learn it. Time and action will tell. Speculation from a keyboard is meaningless, of course.

Look...the Bears made it to a Super Bowl with Rex Freaking Grossman. The Ravens WON a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer. Hell, Houston Fans...look what the damn Bills did with Frank "Comeback" Reich.

I'm not saying it will all work out for the best/better. I'm just saying there's still a better-than-decent chance the Texans are going to make the playoffs. That was a Huge Goal at the beginning of the year. Make the damn playoffs. If we do that, will we be satisfied?

Had one in 2009, plus a weak schedule. Couldn't capitalize.
