Those Trolls are tough. I killed one (with a lot of problems, i really needed Lydia), but then when I continued I came in an area that was swamped with frost trolls. So I ran away. First I have to become better at this game in order to defeat many frost trolls.
Hope that works: Go to Whiterun, next to the steps to Dragonreach there's a Talos shrine where a preacher talks jibberish all day. It should heal all your negative effects, if not it's definitely a bug.
I ran into this bug as well. I had no diseases since I can't contract any while having lycanthropy. The only way to fix it is to fight and level up Two-Handed Weapons (or whatever stat is doing this for you). When it levels up, it should level to the level above what it was supposed to be before. For example, my One-Handed Weapons skill was at 70 and then went down to 15 for no reason. I leveled the skill up and it went to 71. I'm not sure what causes the bug, but that's the only instance I've had of it.
I can't imagine more than one. I will definitely avoid that area if I happen upon it. I will need some major spell power, scrolls, and potion help to even think about it. I gave a Lydia a staff of fire, and she's been using that to great advantage.
I dont know how to add spoilers but I found a quick and easy way to raise Restoration for you casters out there (and at the same time raise Destruction, slow though). So read on if magic interest you. Jump on a blacksmith furnace thingy. Keep jumping (this is destruction, for every jump) as the jumping will keep burning you. Once you get to the point of about to die (maybe a 1/4 life, remember the fire is a damage over time too) start healing yourself. Starting off, two rounds of that raises my restoration and maybe every ten will raise a destruction.
Ya I think its a glitch. I just leveled my two handed and it returned to normal. So if it happens to anyone just level that skill and it should go back to normal.
Same with the Room of the dead (don't remember what it's called, just to the left of the dragonreach building. That shrine took away all diseases etc. EDIT: Never mind, see it was a glitch.
stuck, dungeon in Dragonreach Spoiler So, I found that red whatever chick, and am in the dungeon to free the one guy so he can tell me where their leader is (in dragonreach). I paid the guard, but they won't open the cell. And it needs a Key. No idea what to do. I see the guard that has the key (pick pocket) but can't take it. :\
Do Google search to see if it's a bug. Spoiler I ran into one last night during the Forsworn uprising quest. The Imperial guards were supposed to arrest me but instead they offered me to join their ranks instead. I had to go back and load from 20 minutes earlier.
I'm playing a Nord so I have to back my kin. lol.. Stormcloaks... though I haven't started that quest yet.
I just did this quest. For me the guards never released him, they just taunted him saying like "i think i lost the key might take me a while" lol. So i just got close to the cell like i did before and talked to the prisoner again. You should be able to continue on. I don't know if you really needed to release him but i didnt.
you just Spoiler Talk to the guy in the cell, and he'll tell you what you need to know after you've paid. then there's a pretty funny dialogue after you walk away between him and the closest guard
Lvl 7 and killed my first giant and 2 mammoths! Holy crap, dude sent a wolf flying, serves that wolf for trying to gank me while kiting. My archery and my flame magic barely scratched him but I kited him to a bridge that he couldnt walk under and voila just kept nuking him with magic and arrows. i was gonna restart because my companin Sven stopped moving. But eventually got up to help tackle the last mammoth. Gained lots of archery, destruction and one handed, woot
I have had three of my followers die so far lol. They can withstand pummeling from giants, but can't survive an accidental slice by me.
Awesome. I'm level 6 and can kill giants regularly now with no help from guards. It takes a lot of running around fields, a lot of fire runes, a flame atronarch that barely lasts 10 seconds against the giant, and Lydia, who doesn't last but 10-20 seconds. Last night I must've spent 1-2 hours just doing giant kills and trying to "perfect" the "run for your life, while dropping bombs on the giant" routine.
