upside is this is the bye so Leinart can get some reps on with the first team. other than that, the football gods hate houston and houston sports in general
Until we actually see Leinart play we have no clue how good the Texans will be. Either he manages the game properly, our running game is still effective, and we can still beat the bad teams in our division (jax, indy) w/o Schaub or he changes the entire offense and all of a sudden our offense is as bad as the two aforementioned teams. I pray Schaub's injury is not a season ender.
awexler Adam Wexler My reaction to Schaub injury: Get ready to host a playoff game. They had best QB in AFC South, now they have the 2nd best QB.
My impression from reading between the lines of what Kubiak said is that they know the injury but there are probably different recovery scenarios, some that might include him coming back sooner but with more risk to his foot. I think they want to decide on a timetable before divulging more info.
That has to be at least a little encouraging, he'll get two full weeks in the drivers seat. We know our D is good, have a few fullgame practices against our first string D so we can get acclimated.
With our 2 head monster running the ball, remaining schedule, and Winston blocking his blindside, Leinart should be okay.
Shaub hasn't done that much this year and your overrating his value. He's managed the past couple of weeks that's it. Let's not forget he's a statue and when the game is on the line he chokes.
MJ4Sports Matt Jackson Texans fans, get over it. Injuries happen. You're not replacing Aaron Rodgers MJ4Sports Matt Jackson You have a bad ass RB, OL, Defense and WR. You're still going to get a bye MJ4Sports Matt Jackson Matt Leinart with that running game and that OL will think he's back at USC.
another thing, if leinart plays well and contributes to winning, espn will now lead with the texans. Just looking at all the positives.
people keep saying we have the bye for an extra week of practice, etc... but players are off during bye week, there is no extra practice time. am i wrong about this rule?
Wow. Just great. Alright Leinart, you are getting the keys to the Ferrari. It's a dream set-up: Top 5 WR will return for your first start, you will be behind a top 3 offensive line with the number 1 running back threat in the league and monster behind him. You will have Tight Ends, FB's all some of the best in the league. DON'T DOUCHE THIS ONE.
