A band that owned late 70s Rock, but blew their cred making crappy ballads in the 80s. Still, their early stuff was awesome and holds up well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4nWy8pmIM4

Picked up Sonic Youth "Dirty" and Radiohead "Pablo Honey" at a re-sale shop for $1 each. I wish Radiohead would migrate back to the guitar rock sound.

Saw him when he came to Houston. Guy is funny as hell and not a terrible artist. Pretty talented person all around.

Spacemen 3 - Playing With Fire Engineers - In Praise of More Sparklehorse - Good Morning Spider M83 - Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts Sonic Youth - Goo
Thanks for the recommendation and also Torn n Frayed for The Bends, both are very good. I assumed these were like the softer stuff I've heard on their recent albums. I like that stuff when in the mood but I prefer some edge. The Freak, I like those vids of Living Things as well. I'm an old coot but do appreciate the exposure to some of these new bands. My oldest son was going on about some band called Wolfmother and I just laughed when he played it because they sounded like a Black Sabbath tribute band. So I put on the real thing. Currently listening to Eno/Byrne "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6lww3LftQaw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Sade - Lovers Live I could listen to live Sade all day long. And I think I just might today. (check the hihat work by this drummer) <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HtWEOUe_JeE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
