We don't though. We have a decent QB and Leinart. I'd rather start Yates.

this sucks but really not the end of the world. we run the ball effectively and play good enough d to just need a qb to manage. I really think leinart is going to show some things finally now that he has a chance

fk you. If you're a texans 'fan' you should be shot in the face. people who care more about fantasy than their team are a disgrace to sports.

When during the game did he get injured?

We are going to realize how much we took him for granted. At least Leinert can run.. right?

Speculation RT @evansilva: ESPN's Adam Schefter on #Texans QB Matt Schaub: "Earlier this morning, I was told that he has a Lisfranc injury."

Probably the QB sneak at the half yard line is my guess. This sucks so much.

That would be the same injury that Dom Barber had that sent him to IR.

We are not going to win a playoff game with Matt Leinart. That is my concern, not the regular season.

    Per wiki:

Treatment options include operative or non-operative treatment. If the dislocation is less than 2 mm, the fracture can be managed with casting for 6 weeks. The patient's injured limb cannot bear weight during this period. For operative treatment, screws +/- k-wire will be used for internal fixation of the fracture after closed or more likely open reduction. Again, the patient's injured limb should not bear weight for approximately 6–12 weeks. The screws/k-wires are usually removed later, sometimes before weight bearing.

My day just went to s*** because of this news. Having the running game the Texans do, should hopefully get them by. I'm sure teams will load up against the run now.

Well people, we are all about to see what this team is made of. The Texans have fought through adversity already, let's hope that continues.

Big Ben wore a boot on his broken foot. Obviously some are more significant than others, but still, take a couple weeks off and get ready to play on a fkin peg leg if u have to in the playoffs.

All the stars lined up for the Texans. Manning got hurt, jags cut Garrard, and the titans suck. I think matt can handoff of to Tate and foster and make a few throws and our d plays well.

It's not as simple as handing off more to Foster and Tate. You need a quality QB to make the defense respect your ability to stretch the field, or else any running game can be shut down - including ours.

Maybe Leinart can step up, but he did not look very good in the preseason. Checked down at all costs and very rarely made any plays downfield. Of course, he mostly played with second teamers around him... maybe he'll be a bit better with starters.

Regardless, this is just devastating. Even if, say, Schaub could return after six weeks and be back for the playoffs... this probably costs you any realistic shot at a bye and a true Super Bowl run. Unbelievable.
