Contracts will not be voided. Don't even waste your time dreaming of Kevin Durant in a rockets uniform.

Even if there was a slim chance of this happening, the team payroll would just be redistributed throughout the roster. There's no way a majority of the owners would agree to possibly losing the young faces of their franchise.

I think Nike would not sit around idly or even ESPN if Lebron and a few guys went overseas. They would advertise these guys still, even without the lockout you still see commercials featuring NBA players.

Without a union, the league loses its anti-trust protection and cannot impose any uniform labor rules as that would constitute collusion. If the NBA opens its doors, they are in a no salary cap, no draft, no age-limit free-market world. Apart from treble damages, that is one of the key threats of the law suit -- the dissolution of the entire system.

The big stars will get big money, but the scrubs are gonna get hosed. Teams not likely to compete for a championship, just might go all Donald Sterling and spend as little as possible on player salaries. No salary cap. No salary floor.

I don't understand why the D-League outlawed signing any player that played in the NBA last year or was drafted. Golden opportunity missed.

The commercials happen regardless of whether Lebron is in China or not, so going to China doesn't help/hurt in that regard. But if Lebron isn't on the court playing basketball in the US, his value in those commercials diminishes over time.

"Stern reminds us that the owners have a counter-suit pending against the players over decertification will now be put into play.."

Explain to me how this fits in to the Player's announcement?

    Good-bye season.

Once football is over this year, it's gonna be a looooooooooong winter.

Hunter negotiated a good deal last time around, and maybe he still had that aura around him. Otherwise they might have started this process in July instead of now. Did the players really think Stern would move off his veiled and not-so-veiled threats? It's "Stuck-on-Stupid" vs. "Stuck-on-Evil".

Players blaming Stern are stupid, he was a moderate voice in a sea of hard line owners.

You can fight all you want - but if the money is not there, you are just screaming at the moon.

And that is no moon !

The owners were prepared for this. What the players are doing now, the Owners already have a case pending that the players weren't negotiating in good faith.

I doubt the players will win in court.

I think Scabs are only for a strike right?

I would love for the NBA to open it's doors and see if there was a strike....

What is your definition of exposure? I have been able to watch marginal NBA players via ESPN3.com. Do you think businesses like Nike and business men cannot set up new opportunities for profit?

If there is no NBA season, and guys like Kobe, Durant, and lebron are playing overseas...people in the US will watch.

The NBA filed a preemptive suit to prevent the players union from dissolving as a negotiating ploy.

Not the casual fans, the time difference alone will kill that market.

Have you seen any DWill games since he has been over there?

Have you watched Sergio Llull or DMo?
