Anyone see Stafford grabbing DJ Moore by the facemask/back of helmet, on an interception he threw, and throwing him to the ground? Moore got back up and hit Stafford, starting a big brawl in the game. I'm sure most of you saw it.

What's funny is that I don't even know if Stafford was penalized (WTF?) and Moore was given an unsportsmanlike penalty and thrown out of the game. This is a microcosm of what's wrong with the NFL.

Will/should Stafford be fined and/or suspended?

I'm thinking Stafford should be at least heavily fined (75K sounds about right), and possibly suspended for a game. I doubt the NFL will do this, because they love to protect quarterbacks and offensive players in general. Had this been this other way around (Moore doing the same to Stafford), it'd be a huge deal and Moore would probably get a multiple game suspension.

I lost a lot of respect for Stafford.

Sorry this was the best video I could find.

These Lions are going to start raising eyebrows. First the coaches fight, now this. Sore losers?

*Disclaimer: I did not watch this game, so I don't know the full context of the fight. I assume Stafford was frustrated by the amount of ints he threw.

He was frustrated, it happens. On a positive note he didn't injure anyone so I don't really see it as a big deal, just frustration mixed with a heated rivalry.

He should have done that to Harbaugh.

I can see the "heat of the game" argument, but what would have happened, in your opinion, had it been the other way around?

And, does injuring someone on a completely illegal takedown make it worse, and more illegal?

He should definitely be fined and should've been called for unnecessary roughness.

Jim Schwarz needs to get hold of his team's emotions. I understand he is changing the culture of the team by making them more emotional but they also need to learn to play with some poise.

That happens all the time, especially when guys that don't know how to make tackles try to make tackles... its a 15 yard penalty that went unnoticed, not a fine-worthy offense.

eh, a fine i could see but a suspension is too extreme.

People with glass jaws shouldn't throw stones though

Stafford should receive a fine and possibly a suspension. Grabbing the facemask is illegal in any circumstance.
Moore was doing everything legal by just blocking Stafford with a good technique. He can't help having anyone grabbing the back of his helmet while holding his face mask, and...

HEY! Wait a minute... you're defending a white guy and I'm defending a black guy? WTF??!??! :p

It wasn't a tackle and wasn't anywhere near the ball. He grabbed the back of his helmet and tried to pile drive the guy into the ground. Should have been a 15-yd penalty and he should get a hefty fine.

At the beginning of the season, I was rooting for the Lions despite Jim Schwartz. Now, I completely despise Schwartz and think Suh is a very dirty player. I hope the Lions crash and burn.

A little hard to fight when someone gets you by the inside of your helmet to drop you.

Two teams last night with 2 totally types of leadership, should tell you all you need to know about what I think about the situation.

‘‘Discipline for what?’’ Lions coach Jim Schwartz said when asked about his team’s chippy play. ‘‘For their guy getting kicked out of the game? Did Matt get penalized? No, Matt didn’t get penalized. For the unnecessary roughness on the quarterback — Nick Fairley was in contact with the quarterback when he let go of the ball. It wasn’t a late hit. What other ones do you have?’’

‘‘You had two good football teams playing,’’ Bears coach Lovie Smith said. ‘‘Two division opponents that know each other well. Two physical football teams. That happens from time to time. I don’t think any real damage was done. We’ll both go back to work.’’

    Stafford should be fined IMO.

Now that the shine is coming off the Lions a little bit, Jim Schwartz is starting to show how much of a little b**ch he is. I'm surprised Stafford didn't separate his shoulder on that MMA-style takedown.

Usually on an interception, a defensive player will attempt to take a cheap shot/blind-side block on the QB... Stafford was just defending himself ,before he had to defend himself...Nothing wrong with that IMO...I like this new Detroit football... Dirty , nasty and soon to be feared!!!

Defending himself from what? All DJ did was hold his block, watch the video, Stafford should have gotten out of the way like he did on the earlier pick 6.
