Yezzzir. I sure remember the Barkley days....I've been a Rockets Fan since I was in elementary school....we're talking the days of Carl Herrera, Sleepy Floyd, Buck Johnson, and all the other ooooold school cats. And to answer the poll, yes, I was born and raised in the land of the Chopped & Screwed.
On this specific topic of what he could, if barkley could have accepted a limited role in the offense, it would have worked out even better. instead, there was clear friction between him and hakeem on court because both liked to operate from the same spot. but of course barkley wasn't going to defer to the man who had championships already.
Jordan said it himself, it's common knowledge. Please know what you're talking about before posting, you'll look less stupid. Btw, ever read some of your own posts, talk about worst posts... I wasn't questioning Barkley's talent or accomplishments. I was basically reiterating the truth of why Barkley couldn't lead his teams to a championship. He simply didn't have the work ethic like his peers. And it continues with his commentating on TNT, he simply talks out of his ass most of the time and really doesn't do the homework to be taken seriously. Ding dong? How moronically lame is that. You call people doo doo brain also? Your post is filled with the same woulda coulda shouldas excuses of why Steve didn't become this mythical Rockets hero he was suppose to be for all the Francis lovers. I even bet you can make a delusional scenario where in an alternate universe Steve's statue will be beside Hakeem's if this happened instead or that scenario played out instead. Maybe if Rudy T stayed and JVG never came? I'd tell you what would have happened, we'd still be stuck in the same mediocrity and then endless threads of why Yao is being wasted away while Cat and Steve still play ISO ball, while we either hover around .500 record or less. We made the right move in moving beyond Rudy and then dumping Steve. You, like other myopic Francis lovers, quite simply overrate him and his ability to lead a succesful team in the NBA. He belongs in a sub .500 team, not a playoff aspiring team. The NBA is littered with talented losers, Francis is just another face amongst that crowd. So in closing, I am nonplussed and unmoved by your shortsighted comments.
Yes, whatever Jordan says, is true.........He is perfect isn't he? You have a link for that? Common Knowledge? Charles did EVERYTHING he possibly could to get a ring........His 4th quarter and playoff PER and Efficiency stats show the facts, something you have none of........... Not as queer as calling something "moronically lame" lolololol... ? No not really, Steve had scrubs getting heavy minutes, that is truth...... Well that is just random speculation........You have no idea what would have happened, I have no problem with your opinion, just the absolute tone of it all...... Nothing you said is "Common Knowledge" or fact, remember that.
6-0 in Finals appearance. That is indeed perfect. Here, eat this. (I'm taking a big leap of faith in presuming you know Michael Jordan's retirement press conference existed and happened...actually 3 times.) http://www.nba.com/jordan/transcript.html Pwnage, pure and simple. Wow those stats clearly show why he won soooo many rings.... Chew on this stat: 0-1 in Finals appearance. I'll let you take a guess who beat him in his lone final appareance. You're kinda slow so I'll give you hint: that person is 6-0 in Finals appearance. Man that was a Riot. Freakin HIL-ARIOUS. Oh yeah, and if Steve-O was surrounded by all-stars he'd definitely be the ring leader to that group while they march to a dynasty.....BWAHAHAHA!!! Stevie wouldn't know what to do with better talent, he'd still dominate the ball because he lives in a make believe world that has him as some legit franchise player. Hence him getting traded from the Magic as he thought he would be the main man there, ignorantly not seeing the BIG NEON sign that said the Magic didn't draft Dwight Howard #1 to be a decoy. Know your role Francis. Where's the random speculation in Francis being traded away for a better talent in Tmac? Did that happen or not? How many lottery years did we endure before Rudy "stepped down" in 2003? More education for you: it was 4. You're going to revise history on that? Au contraire my "talks alot yet says nothing" friend, you've been corrected and educated once again. You should be grateful of the lessons I'm giving to you. I'll accept an advanced thank you that I know is forthcoming from you. Your welcome.
1. I was talking about Michael Jordan's personal opinion and interior, not his basketball greatness....... 2."PWNAGE"? What the hell is that? 3. Rings, Robert Horry, Nuff said....Rings do not determine everything. Ask Elgin Baylor....... 4. Steve could do that, He has certainly taken us as far as Tracy with a shabby roster.......... Who is to say that with Scola and Artest on that team what we would have done? Not you, not me........not anyone..... Not to mention Yao was a shell of what he is now........ 5. Dwight was completely raw, and Steve had that team winning at a very high rate with everyone touching the ball....... Did Grant Hill or Cuttino ever complain about getting enough shots? In fact, Steve did not shoot enough, He would often take like 2 shots until the 4th quarter when he had the ability to close out games by getting to the line..........Steve has always been a tremendously unselfish player with all the heart in the world, part of the reason he did not fit in with the Knicks.........
your horrible attempt at a sideshow isn't even getting any attention dude. just sit back and enjoy the knote32 vs v3.0 throwdown!
I thought Barkley was our best player that year, Dream and Clyde both lost a step and did not seem as passionate about getting that ring as they were before...... It was farrrrrrrrrrrr from Barkleys fault, as he was relegated to being a rebounder most of the time.......
Of course we are at odds, you have no heart and thats what it takes to have a killer instinct. The side show is your secret discriminatory threads. Why don't you just come out and say you have a problem with the Asian fans that have joined this site since Yao Ming became a rocket? If I'm wrong I am sorry but you kind of ask for it. Why does it matter where you live and such? Are you from SD? How about a poll to find the real rocket fans from SD to Houston? Afraid you will be excluded? Did you like the rockets before or after the championships? By the way did you see dream when he was a coog? you should have. Were you a rocket fan before the DREAM era?
we all know that killer instinct was a campy fighting game that was never taken seriously by true fighting game fans. Street Fighter will always be the champion, while Killer Instinct is there for side entertainment.

Some great memories during the Barkley Era: Spoiler <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AclaHTMWxkk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Spoiler <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-x6PMj9rIeU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I also remember the last play in that 1999 series where Barkley almost beat the crap out of the sweeper because he slipped on the last play and the Rockets lost by a single basket. I took that loss pretty hard. I will spare everyone the nightmare of the Bear Hug loss.
There was a Barkley era. There was even a company for it in Phoenix called Butt Kicking Inc. Unfortunately, it went bankrupt in 1995.
I was still a fan... even though I'm not a huge fan of Barkley. Back then, I was one of his fans, but now, after learning more about the game, I see the faults in Chuck's game.
