This really makes my blood boil. He leads most online polls, he ranks near the top in a few straw polls around the region, his campagne has received more funding from the military then any other candidate, even doubling the funding Obama received for his campagne.

The friggin' media is so controlling, no one, including the republican-based Fox News network wants to see Ron Paul in office, after twice in the last month disqualifying Paul from their straw polls because Paul won by such a large margin they felt the Paul supporters flood the polls.

Don't be so blind, America. Mind games are being played, if they gave every candidate a fair chance, equal time on television, and didn't talk downward on certain ones then Paul would win by a landslide IMO.

    Ron Paul Silenced by CBS?

GOP candidate says he was deliberately limited to 90 seconds of air time in Saturday's debate.

What You Didn't Realize About the CBS/NJ/Wofford Debate: Fret Not

I'm hear to tell y'all....Ron Paul owned Spartanburg, South Carolina tonight at the CBS/National Journal/Wofford College debate. You may be upset over the "89 seconds" Ron Paul was given in the debate to reply but the real excitement was happening before airing and during commercials.

Someone screamed (in the quiet) "WE LOVE YOU RON PAUL!!" and the whole place went wild with applause and hooting etc.

When Herman Cain walked on stage, a DP member yelled "ZERO, ZERO, ZERO" which got the crowd going again...

Then a single troop stood up, STOOD UP (in fatigues) and hollered "THE TROOPS SUPPORT RON PAUL!!"

And so it went on throughout the debate, Ron Paul got the most applause, folks kept hollering out "RON PAUL!!"

So I'm just here to confirm to you that I witnessed it with my own eyes and ears. There was a lot of support for Ron Paul in the debate crowd tonight. We drew a lot of attention to Dr. Paul that we are obviously endeared to him unlike any other candidate. If no one knew about Ron Paul before the debate, I'll bet they're looking him up now!!

Hightop, that didn't seem like your normal type of writing. You were at the South Carolina debate? Do you live there?

Ross Perot was smarter than Ron Paul.

Paul is half political genius and innovator and half tin hat nut. It's the crazy half that keeps anyone from taking him seriously.

Paul supporters act like no one's ever heard of the guy, and that if everyone knew who he was, then he'd be the overwhelmingly popular dude. Even though Paul has had several CNN interviews, and god knows is everywhere on the ******* Internet.

People know who Paul is, guys. He has a couple good ideas, but about 20 absolutely ridiculous ones that would destroy this country if ever implemented. The guy's crazy, people think he's crazy. Furthermore? He's not new. He pulled this crap last election, and I'm sorry, the media reports more on things that are new. Cain's new. Perry's new. Paul isn't, and he did this stuff last time around.

I guess you think our troops are crazy.

"In an analysis of all donations to all candidates from military veterans, Dr. Paul has received a full 50%. By comparison, Obama has received 28% and all of the other GOP candidates combined have only received 22%."

There's a reason why "our troops" are ultimately led by a civilian.

Do you have an actual source for this? Your link just repeats it as fact but provides no actual substance. When people make a political contribution, they I don't believe they list whether they are a veteran or not, so I'd be curious who came up with those numbers.

When you lead with this nonsense, your credibility kind of gets shot. Using non-scientific internet polls and paid straw polls just show that Ron Paul has obsessed supporters, not a lot of supporters.

    Here is Military:
    http://www.politifact.com/texas/sta...ul-says-members-military-have-given-him-far-/

Ron Paul says members of military have given him far more money than other GOP candidates and Barack Obama.

If he were president, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul says, the United States would remove its forces from Afghanistan as "quickly as the ships could get there."

In a July 20 interview with PBS’s "NewsHour," the Lake Jackson Republican continued: "It's insane on what we're doing. And I'll tell you one thing about this business about the military: We just had a quarterly (campaign finance) report, and they listed all the money that all the candidates got from the military. I got twice as much as all the other candidates put together on the Republican side, and even more than Obama got, which tells me that these troops want to come home as well because they know exactly what I'm talking about."

There’s no clear-cut way to gauge why members of the military gave to Paul’s campaign or to others. But we wondered if Paul was squared away on how much more money his presidential campaign reaped from members of the military.

A posting on his campaign website the same day he appeared on "NewsHour" sheds a little light. Headlined "Ron Paul Campaign Raises Most Donations From Military," it says that Paul has "raised more than any other current presidential candidate in donations from members of the military. Of those donors who indicated their occupation and employer, Paul topped the other contenders."

Next, we turned to the presidential candidates’ latest campaign finance filings compiled by the Federal Election Commission, which breaks out donations by donors’ employers. In an interview, commission spokeswoman Mary Brandenberger told us the agency makes sure that each report complies with a federal law requiring candidates to list the occupation of each donor of $200 or more.

A caveat: We did not achieve accounting-quality math in this look; there’s no quick way to do so. It’s also possible we missed a donation or two. Consider the numbers that follow in the ballpark.

That said, from April through June, Paul fielded more than $25,000 from individuals who listed their employer as a branch of the military.

Combined, six other Republican presidential candidates listed donations from members of the military totaling about $9,000. Our most-to-least breakdown: Herman Cain, $2,850; Mitt Romney, $2,750; Michele Bachmann, $2,250; Newt Gingrich, $500; and Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum, $250 each.

On the Democratic side, Obama’s campaign received more than $16,000 in donations from members of the military.

After we conducted this rough check, Paul’s campaign spokesman, Gary Howard, said by email that their numbers showed that Paul garnered $34,480 from members of the military; other GOP candidates fielded $13,848 and Obama took in $19,849.

Summing up, Paul’s military-connected contributions for the three months more than double such contributions to all the other Republican presidential candidates—and they also exceed Obama’s.

    We rate his statement True.

whatever you feel about paul, it is ridiculous that he only got 90 seconds. the media has their flavor of the week that they prop up - bachman, perry, cain and now gingrich...but paul has been consistently in the top 4 and should be getting more air time. especially in a "debate" on foreign policy - he is the only one up there saying anything different than the rest. he is even to the left of obama on foreign policy issues. you would think they would want to highlight the differences there in order to foster more debate and discussion.

    You guys are absolutely right!

It's a damn shame the anti war GOP candidate is considered a nutcase by the establishment.
