Manny won that fight. Kinda disappointed with the result but hey, that is Juan Ma. My hats off for both fighters. Let's close this book now and open a new one. The $$$ one
I'm a big boxing fan, and I enjoy watching all types of fighters like Mayweather who I think would beat Pacquaio. You know nothing about me. U mad?
*Personal Opinion* I felt that going into the 12th round that if the judges gave Manny the win it was only because he was the more aggressor. Yes Marquez was mostly clean with his punches throughout the fight and Manny at times tried to look for openings that Marquez didn't really show.. As a matter of fact Marquez discipline up to the 12th round was what I really admired. 12th round WTF Marquez.. I had you at even with Manny and thought if you came out with more agression and kept Manny on his heels you would have had a slight advantage in the score cards..Personally I thought if Marquez did well in round 12 the judges would still rule in Manny's favor or break even (Because they want a Manny vs Mayweather fight. BUT!!!!! because he didn't do sh@# Right away I knew Manny would win or maybe he wanted Manny to win (Conspiracy with so many reasons why).. The Mayweather fight vs Manny will happen now. No doubt. And I believe Manny will lose. This coming from a long time Manny Fan.
That's an interesting point. I actually heard that argument on the Ring Theory podcast on Grantland.com the other day. One of the hosts made the argument that the the excuses Bob Arum is making as to why the fight will never happen are starting to out-number the excuses that Mayweather has made.
I wouldn't say outskilled. Marquez just matches up well against Manny. He's really patient and pretty strong. However, that style of boxing gets you close in a championship fight, but doesn't get you over the hump. Close fights always go to the more aggressive fighter. Pacquaio threw more punches, land more of them, and initiated the action. That is why he won the fight.
i don't know why people are throwing out punch stat numbers. this aint the amateurs where they judge on the most punches landed. marquez landed the most effective punches, the most combos, and countered almost anything manny threw at him.
If you're given a huge chance and lots of money to fight and didn't fight like the last 2 fights that's Marquez loss.
You probably should. And you want to know something else? The reason this fight wasn't a fire-fight was because Manny couldn't let his hands go. Marquez was content to counter-punch him all night. If Manny would have tried to make a fight of it, there would have been fireworks.
That Kirkland comeback against Angulo last week was pretty bad ass huh? I won some money on Dawson against Hopkins. Can't wait for Cotto vs Margarito 2. Get off my nuts.
My guess is PAC Floyd will happen now. Arum has no downside on this really since Manny won't keep fighting long anyway. Might as well cash it in.
If Marquez fought he would have loss the fight. Every one knows it. That's why he's on the defensive end this time around and just counter punching BS. The guy did not do anything to deserve this win with that boring **** style.
Found the official numbers Pac landed 176 of 578 (30%) Marquez landed 138 of 436 (32%) Power Punches: Pac landed 117 of 274 (43%) Marquez landed 100 0f 254 (39%)
Which fight was it when golden boy was told by his corner he was winning and started dancing around for the rest of the fight but lost the decision? Marquez just got some of that.
