What are the hot items this year? I'm assuming it's something along the lines of:

    Entry level 15.6" notebook ~$199
Off brand 32" LCD TV for ~$179
Cheap off brand Android-based tablet for $59
    Crappy digital camera for $29
    ...

Pretty much what I've seen so far, though there are still a lot of ads to be released.

Too bad I'm probably going to have to camp out if I want that $200 tv lol. That's a really good deal

I also like the Acer Iconia Tab deal. That's cheap for a decent honeycomb tablet

Minimum of 10 in the store. Last year, my local BB didn't have that many in line until after 10pm. With them opening earlier this year, it adds a new dynamic. I got to Toys R Us at 8ish (opened at 10) last year and there must have been 100 people in line by then, but Wal-Mart opening at 10 may thin other places.

Target's Kinect bundle beats Wal-Mart/Best Buy.

How am I going to be at Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Target all at once?

Is there a site that offers the Target ad as a pdf for downloading?

Yes. I've done it the last few years, but only during the sale (i.e. the sale ad says 12 - 6, they will only match it from 12-6 on that day).

Let me know if you guys come across any good deals on TVs. I don't know much about TVs. Its been 7 years since I bought one, but I hear LEDs are the way to go.

55' Samsung LED 1080p 120 Hz for 999.99 in the BB add. Is that a really good deal? Would I need to wait in line for this?

    1. It used to be possible to make an online order from BB on Black Friday, including TV sets. I don't know if that's still possible, but it's worth a try.

    2. From what I've read, 3D is still a premium feature that might or might not be worth the extra cost.

    3. Size matters. There is no such thing as a TV that is too large.

    4. Most sets do not include a stand or base, you have been warned.

    5. Get an extended service contract. It's the only electronic item that I consider worth that investment. The reason is because getting a Large TV to a repair shop is a major pain and having the service tech visit your home usually cost extra.

    6. Any sweet Black Friday deal on TVs is going to be "messy". Unless you can order it online or have a taste for ultra violence, it might be best to avoid the hassle. TVs are the one big ticket item that people want to get a great deal on, and Black Friday sales are usually the best.

    I hope this helps.

Walmart has a 55" LG LED 1080p 120 Hz for 898. You could have gotten that same LG tv at Sears earlier this week for $949 so even that is not that great of a deal. And I'm not sure it's worth the $100 price break though because Samsung > LG IMO.

The bad thing about BB is no matter what you want (even if it is for a CD not on sale) and you are out early, you will have to wait in a huge line with people trying to get the steal deals ($200 42" tvs). If you really did want the Samsung, I'd be willing to bet you could just show up later and still get that tv.

I keep watching for Frys deals...order online and go pick it up from the store...win/win if that plays out.

The expensive stuff like that doesn't go quickly. Best Buy can take forever to get through the checkout line until the afternoon. I certainly wouldn't line up outside for that deal.

Amazon currently has the XBOX 360 250 GB bundle for $299.99. Here's what the bundle comes with:

    XBOX 360 250 GB

    Wireless controller

    Headset

    Fable III

    Halo Reach

    3 months XBOX Live

    $60 Amazon credit

I'm really thinking of pulling the trigger but don't know if I should wait for a better deal in the upcoming weeks.

    Suggestions?
