Tulsa looks like the real deal they have been great since they got past that monster non conference schedule. SMU beat this same TCU team too....can't take anything for granted.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves with a trip to NO, I'll take it, but LOTS of things have to happen first. As of now and where UH stands, I'll take any BCS bowl.
Yep. This could be an even more epic finish to the season than I thought. This could be the biggest month in UH football history.
Damn, I've never been so proud to be a Cougar! With the Texans and Cougars having so much success this year, it's been surreal. Is this real life? Eat em up Coogs! And Go Texans!
Correct me if I'm wrong but the last time UH was this highly ranked and getting national attention was Klingler's senior year when he was a Heisman candidate before UH got undressed by Gino Torretta's Canes. Can UH handle the spotlight this time?
I would say Bama needs to lose again, OK state would have to lose before the conference championship, Stanford needs to lose, and just to be safe Oklahoma would have to lose again (or in the Conf. championship). Either way, any BCS bowl would be fine with me, but enough of this talk, let's go one game at a time and take care of SMU, Tulsa, and Southern Miss.
nope 2009 after beating a top 5 Oklahoma State team at OK state and then beating Texas Tech right after. Then we laid an egg at UTEP and that was that.
That is not true. Nothing has to happen other than us winning out. That is how the BCS works. We're automatically in since we'll be the highest ranked non-AQ in the top 12. The only thing that "needs to happen" is us winning our next 3 games. Depending on what happens with the others teams may affect which BCS bowl we go to, but if we win out, we're assured a BCS spot.
Yeah I know, we win we're in a BCS bowl, i'm just saying in reference for us to make a trip to NO and the National Championship, lots of things would have to happen.
I think he's talking about a BCS game. There's no way, under any circumstances, that UH will be in the national title game - the schedule is not good enough to get into the top 2. But they only need top 12 to make the BCS, and they are set there as long as they win out.
yeah, agreed, but I took your previous comment as thinking we had a shot to go to NO in the championship game not the bowl game. that's what I was referencing my comment to as that I'd take any BCS bowl game.
Help me out folks. BCS Championship 1 LSU vs 2 Oklahoma State Rose Bowl Michigan St/Penn St vs Stanford Orange Bowl Clemson/Virginia Tech vs Cincinatti Fiesta Bowl Oklahoma vs Oregon Sugar Bowl Alabama vs Houston How about that? http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls/projections
I'd rather play the ACC champ simply from a matchup standpoint, but Bama in New Orleans would be a personal dream come true. And it would be a storybook ending to Case's career, who almost beat Bama in Tuscaloosa as a freshman.
I'd much rather play the ACC and at least have a shot at winning. Bama is a mismatch all over the place.
