I completely agree. I continue to think people highly under rate the talent on this roster. Not gonna claim we are championship contenders as is, but I just don't see a roster that is capable of losing as much as some people want.

    It is homerism.

The Lakers, Grizzlies and Spurs would crush us if we ever met them in the playoffs with our current roster.

The Lakers and Spurs of two seasons ago. As far as Memphis is concerned, check the sig.

So the Rockets level of play won't change during the playoffs just like every other team does?

Hey kid, this was the only team in the playoffs that took the Lakers to a 7 game series. The Lakers soundly beat every other team that year. I'm not saying the Rockets will win the series but you have no sound basis in fact to say the Rockets will get 'crushed'.

The Rockets biggest fault is taking care of weaker teams.

Our roster now is nothing like what it was back then. This might be the same franchise, but it definitely not the same team.

Close to it. This is still a good team.

For those who says that the Rockets will play better as a team this season. We don't have adelman coaching anymore.

I don't know how the team will play but I'm eager to see the young players. Especially Patrick.

I think we could still take Memphis.

I still believe we are close to the playoffs if the team can luck out and get two C's(7footers) that can play tough D and rebound at an efficient rate.

Not having Adelman will not be a problem early in the season. Hopefully Finch's coaching style is as good as advertised.

Not being afraid and being a playoff lock are two different things though.

I'm not afraid of any of those teams either. But I don't see how we're a playoff lock by any means.
We could make it, sure. I could also see us beat the likes of Memphis, San Antonio or Portland. But it sure won't be easy and the downside with this team is much larger than the downside of any of the teams I listed. IMO.

I like our chances against teams:

    SA: Players getting old.
Lakers: new coach, kobe getting old
Memphis and Portland are not a lock for the playoffs.

I wonder how much difference Battier made in the Grizzlies People will berate the Rudy Gay trade til death, but I would have done the same thing. ou'

Anyway, you're right, we're below all those teams. Unless Morey can find a miracle trade, its time to scout college kids.

I'm still hoping Westbrook clashes with Durant. Give them Scola, Lowry, and a pick for Westbrook and Aldrich.

Dreamin. I still wish Melo was a Rocket. I just can't wait to be excited about a team again.
