Yeah its good to see ... even though I've hated Katy ever since they beat Eisenhower back in 2000??... I remember seeing Dalton playing for Katy ... Play action pass was killer...
Hats off to Andy Dalton. Lord knows, Cam has received enough praise (and rightfully so). But the sheer fact that a budding megastar like Cam is being challenged by a guy that most casual fans couldn't pick out of a police lineup really tells you something about how solid and under-the-rader this guy has been.
I think Arizona fans are actually worried about Petersen's performance as a DB. The cute pick Rookie of the Year is Jim Harbaugh, easily.
Cam is all flash and hype -- look at how many games the Panthers have won! Dalton is the guy you want to win ballgames. He was key to taking TCU to the next level, as well.
I couldn't agree more, if Cam were a true franchise QB the Panthers' defense wouldn't rank 28th in the NFL in points allowed. Dalton's intangibles, the fact the he just knows how to win, is the main reason why the Bengals have allowed the 4th fewest points in the league. On a serious note, I've started to notice that when you talk to fans of the three major sports (make it four, thow in hockey as well), it seems like football fans (and sports radio personalities) tend to make the dumbest arguments, riddled with vague cliches? What's the deal with that? Is it just that there are a lot more casual fans because of the 1 game a week format?
Lets also not forget Arizona's pass defense sucks in general. Peterson deserves STROY (too bad AP doesn't have one), not DROY.
By watching Dalton you cannot tell he is a rookie, he looks so calm in the pocket atlease from the game i have watched This kid may be the real deal.
two huge equations which have been helping dalton: 1. bengals defense is legit, top 5 so far this year. 2. much like it seems with dalton, aj green is mature beyond his years it seems. both of them play like they've been in the league for a few years. aj green is going to be scary good in a few years imo.
Let's not forget schedule... bengals have played(29th SOS): @CLE, @DEN, SF, BUF, @JAX, IND, @SEA, @TEN panthers have played(15th SOS): @ARI, GB, JAX, @CHI, NO, @ATL, WAS, MIN Next few weeks should tell us if the bengals D and team as a whole are legitimate or not.
lol my bad... I just read the first paragraph and I was so disgusted I didn't bother to read the rest.
I wanna say Ben Tate is also in the running, but he never gets in the end zone (2TDs)... lets say he finishes with 1200 yards and 6TDs, do u put him in the race?
Newton will win ROTY. And he'll win convincingly. And I'd have no problems with that. That said, one thing I do want to say in Dalton's favor is that his teams have played a lot less garbage time so far. Dalton's productivity has come basically against defenses playing at their best. While Newton has put up a lot of garbage time numbers against effectively prevent defenses. Not saying this puts Dalton ahead, but it does make Dalton's performnace that much meaningful. That he has played well when games are on the line.
