I didn't play mw2. started with black ops. so far I like black ops a lot better. I might just have to get used to this since the gameplay is really different
I like the multiplayer additions, like choosing your killstreak package, the addition of recoil compared to MW2, new killstreak rewards, credit for playing the objectives, etc... The maps, however, are not very impressive to me. I have the hardened addition, so Im hoping they take peoples complaints and dish out a lot of new maps that look and play pretty.
The maps are making it a lot less fun than it could be. I like the Team Defender mode. So far........Black Ops seemed a lot better but I will reserve judgment for a while.
I have Modern Warfare, World at War, MW2, Black Ops and now MW3 and I must say that I'm not impressed with this game. It is MW2 with new crappy maps. I really think this game has the worst maps out of all the titles I own. I happen to think Black Ops is a better overall game. I have a few friends who love this game, but I think it is average at best. Maybe it'll grow on me the more I play. There is nothing really innovative at all about this game. I think it is a step back with the excessive explosions, guns with zero recoil, and shoe box maps that leave me feeling like I've been here before. The one new thing they try to incorporate with the different killstreak packages is just stupid in my opinion and really doesn't add anything positive to the game when people can "earn" killstreaks without actually earning them. I mean who can't get 3 or 4 kills in a game and earn a UAV?
for some reason it appears that it has some trigger lag. Black Ops does not have that issue. Then again, i'm on a low level and I don't have the good weapons yet. I think the maps are too big and I'm getting spawn killed alot.
Anyone experiencing lag when you are the host of a match? I'm on PS3. 25 mbps dl 3 up 16 ms ping Sigh
Eh they definitely didn't re-invent the wheel. For the most part I'd say the game does feel like modern warfare 2. After playing for awhile I don't have nearly as many complaints on the maps as some of the others. There's a few I don't like, but they're mostly good. It's much more balanced than the previous games in the series, but I can understand the complaints. I like it, but it is essentially more of the same and will get old relatively quickly. I was probably going to jump right back into Halo next monday anyway.
My problem with that mode is anytime I've played it I've experienced the same thing. One dude stays back and lights everyone up, while people who care less about their KD run in, get a dogtag and get killed. It's a cool concept, but well...yeah.
I certainly don't suck at the MW games, and as I said, I loved them before. I think playing battlefield where you can play both run and gun em style as well as a "slower" paced game (more strategic at times) makes MW seem...shallow. I'm not going to play the "kids" play MW, b/c it's not just kids. Everyone that speaks in-game in the MW series is immature. Grown ass men and children alike sound like idiots. Raging all the time. And in my opinion, Black Ops was garbage. I just didn't like any of the Treyarch games at all.

Yes and no. Team work is important, especially in Rush and Conquest game play. However, you can have fast past MW type game play if you want. The key thing with Battlefield is how vehicles play apart in the game play. You have to strategize against them. There also things like Mortars you personally control. It is much more realistic.
