Stacy Francis - great voice but boring. No superstar quality. Simon - bithc. Inconsistent. Rest - Ok so far.
Astro. Absolutely everyone predicted that he would do "Lose Yourself" but I love the fact that he does his own lyrics and completely made it his own. Kid's lyrical talent is off the freaking charts for his age. Joe Frazier line was great. He's going to be HUGE. Melanie wasn't particularly impressive, but that's because she's just so damn good she can't top herself. She better not be leaving anytime soon, because I want to see what she's capable of when she really has to push herself. Can't deny the Stereo Hogzz got the choreography down pat, but I'm not sure what I think of their sound with the one guy singing and help from those extra backup singers on the group vocal. Kind weird song choice too. Still, entertaining performance. Josh Krajcik has one hell of a voice. Dude just kills it every single time. Really nothing more to say. He was great. Chris Rene was okay, but I kinda think the competition has now progressed to the point where he's a bit out of his depth. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great artist and I'd cop his CD, but I don't know if he can really find the diversity or power to match these other guys. For his niche though, he's awesome. Rachel Crow. Holy sh-t. She killed it up there. Forgot she could sing like that with those stupid songs Simon was picking for her. Overall, I gotta think Stereo Hogzz and probably Lakoda Rayne (much as I love them) will be bottom two. I can't see they getting more votes than the other guys.
Jazzlyn Little did "going down" better than Marcus Canty. I'm not impressed. My rankings: Josh - he went to another level 2a Drew - I love her voice 2b Rachel - She is unreal 3a Melanie 3b Astro
Exactly how I would rank mine as well. There's a big gap between them and the rest of the competition too. It's funny, though, because I have been watching this show with my parents, and my mom has basically been against Rachel. I mean, she didn't hate her or anything... but she thought Rachel was incredibly mediocre. Her jaw dropped after Rachel's performance tonight. Seriously, that was off the charts.
There were a few really good performances tonight. I really loved Rachel and Astro tonight. Josh and Drew are right behind them in my opinion. 1. Rachel 2. Astro 3. Josh 4. Drew I really hope Stacy Francis leaves but think it comes down to Lakoda and SteroHoggz
Astro and Rachel Crow shared the spotlight tonight... my guess for bottom 2: Stereo Hoggz and the guy who did the song from Dangerous Minds...
No love for Paula and group category. It seems like the number of votes is divided by the number of people in the group.
Just watched tonight's show on dvr and gotta give myself props. lol It was about time for Stereo Hogzz to go, but I wish Simon would have said Lakoda Rayne, just because I'm curious what happens in the event of a deadlock.
That's true. I liked the Stereo Hoggz, they were entertaining but their song choices the last 2 weeks have been horrible! Lakoda Rayne is the only act I will look forward to now because they are hot. Stacy Francis is disgusting, she needs to stop wearing such revealing outfits
Just got done watching both episodes. I must say, I wasn't surprised to see the Stereo Hoggz and Lakoda Rayne in the bottom two. The real shocker to me is Simon, the same guy that said one week ago to the Stereo Hoggz "there isn't a band like you in the world", can say that then watch their 'survival performance' this week (one where they clearly outperformed the girls) then ultimately send them home. It doesn't make any sense to me. Oh well, everybody knew the groups category was a joke to begin with. On a more positive note: Rachel absolutely stole the spotlight at the live shows. And it's good to hear Simon admit he was doing a poor job with her. Her songs up to that point were too cheesy and weren't showing off her incredible voice. Rachel + a microphone - the dancing and gimmicks = jackpot. As far as the live shows went, here's my breakdown: Rachel - As I mentioned earlier, absolutely stole the spotlight and was the perfect ending to the show. She's a contender once again now. Chris Rene - Probably saved himself this week by shifting to rap and putting his so-so singing voice on the back-burner. Still has a long way to go if he's going to be a challenger, though. Astro - Great as always. Melanie - Great but didn't blow me away this time. Stacy - Glad to hear her do something that isn't a "church song", as Simon would say. Proved she has a little versatility in her. Marcus - All along I've been complaining that L.A. Reid is ruining him. I got exactly what I wanted - just him with a microphone. And you know what? I agree with 'what' that Jazzlyn Little performed that song better than he did too. Unimpressed. Josh - Awesome. Love this guy. Drew - Voice of an angel. Although, to be honest I wasn't blown away by either of her past two performances. Leroy - Tiring on him quickly. Not sure how I'd mentor him if I were Nicole because he's losing what little appeal he has. Still a solid singer but you don't quite look at him and say, "Wow, this did has a ton of star appeal". Lakoda Rayne - Eh, whatever. I've said all along that I think they're boring, cheesy and Dixie Chick wannabe's. My updated power rankings: My rankings: 1) Melanie 2) Josh 3) Drew 4) Astro 5) Rachel 6) Stacy 7) Marcus 8) Chris 9) Leroy 10) Lakoda Rayne Drew needs to step up her game next week. She's only ahead of Astro and Rachel right now due to her consistency up until this point.
My power rankings: 1. Astro 2. Rachel 3. Melanie 4. Drew 5. Josh 6. Marcus 7. Chris 8. Leroy 9. Stacy 10. Lakoda Rayne
Power Rankings IMO 1. Astro 2. Josh 3. Rachel 4. Drew 5. Melanie 6. Chris 7. Leroy 8. Marcus 9. Stacy 10. Lakoda Rayne
LA Reid just shamelessly plugging Jayz's shirts "Occupy All Streets." Wow. Then you got that host interrupting the judges mid-sentence. This show is a train wreck.
Leroy Bell was booooooooring. He's a proficient vocalist, but damn, he is so 'meh'... Agreed with Simon and LA there. Rachel keeps defeating Simon's attempts to marginalize her voice, lol. She was great once again. I think she's got the inside track on winning this thing now. I had the same WTF look as Simon during Chris Rene's performance. Great song, but I'm not really seeing the "rock & roll" there. Performance wasn't really all that impressive either. And then Stacy Francis joins Chris in the loose definition of the Rock & Roll category with some Celene Dion. These MFers are just adding guitars to songs from other genres, haha. She performed well enough and got to use those impressive pipes, but I can't say I really enjoyed it. That shell-shocked look on her face throughout the judges' negative comments was hilarious. Melanie. Much better. Now that was an impressive performance. If we're going to say "f the genre" tonight, lets sound good at least. And once again, the judges spend most of their critiques ragging on each others' contestants and insulting the song choice. Oh man, this night is such a disaster. GREAT TV. lol
I'm just glad Stacy Francis realized she isn't 20 years old and wore something that went past the mid point of her thigh
