http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Astros Sign Travis Buck By Ben Nicholson-Smith [November 9, 2011 at 4:08pm CST] The Astros signed outfielder Travis Buck, according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America (on Twitter). The 27-year-old appeared in 50 games for the Indians in 2011 before electing free agency at the end of the season.
I mentioned this when Buck was brought up in the Craig Tatum thread, but I'm actually interested to see what Buck can bring. Obviously based on his numbers so far, the answer is "not much," but I'm still intrigued. He's one of those outfielders with tools to spare that hasn't quite figured it out. I'm compare him to Jordan Schaefer in terms of guys the Astros have right now, but he might have more pop in his bat than Schaefer. Buck was one heck of a player in college at Arizona State, hitting for both average and power on teams that won a ton of games. Of course, the exact same thing could be said about Brett Wallace.....
